Teddy Bruschi to retire today

Although he lost a step or two the last couple seasons he was a very very good player. Was a leader on the defense for a long time. I'll always remember and respect what he did on the field for the Patriots.

I loved Tedy as much as any other Pats fan, but it was time. He's clearly losing a step and isn't the player he once was. I'd love to see him stay with the team in some capacity.

His # should be retired, hes gone to 5 superbowls and returned to action after having a stroke of all things. He's finished as a player but his playmaking abilities and desire for the game were worthy of a retired #...too bad he cant block, this offensive line is rather offensive so far this summer.

Bruschi was an iconic Patriot and a great player in his prime. Hopefully he sticks around in some capacity.

I'm not a Pats fan, but I know that Bruschi is a class act and has positiviely influenced the sport of American Football. I wish him the best.

I know Teddy and Heidi and they have always been nice to me.

 

Everyone in the neighborhood likes him and of course our town has embraced him as well.

 

Teddy is respected by pretty much everyone in the NFL, local, and national media.

 

He was a tough, smart, and hard playing ILB that lead the defense as a coach when on the field.

 

I guess there is not much to "like" there.

I generally dont care who plays for Boston sports teams as they come and go for the love of the dollar but this guy was part of the community, negotiated his own deals without an agent and played the game after a vein in his head exploded.

I am not a Pats fan (Steelers and Eagles fan)... But he was a great player and I alway thought he seemed like a good person.

He'll be part of the 'greatest pats team' on Monday night, along with Rodney and Troy Brown. Bruschi was named the defensive captain to the all pats team after he announced his retirement. Good luck on ESPN Tedy.
