Who do you guys think get called up? Im going to say Michael Bowden, Marcus Mcbeth, Dice K,Aron Bates,Kotteras,Byrd,Anderson,Bailey and Reddick. I know its a lot but it will give us great depth in the pen and a chance not too burn this guys out for the postseason and some good power off the bench.

They will expand mainly with pitchers. Kotteras will be the 3rd catcher. Reddick/Brian Anderson will be an extra OFer for Defense. I don't think Bates will get a call. We already have too many first basemen.

Maybe Lowrie so Tito can PH twice for the 9th spot.

Good point... You have 3 shortstops you could pinch A Gon and Lowrie in key situations and let guys like Baldelli and Lowell hit.

Carter was in the deal for Wagner.

The Wagner deal was for PTBNL's, I thought that meant he was still with us until it was time for the PTBNL to be cashed in. That means that Carter's role in the deal is officially more rumor than fact. Until Carter's actually named as the PTBNL my understanding is he's on the roster (this leading to situations like a player being his own PTBNL)

Woodward and Traber were DFA not released, cleared waivers and accepted assignment to Pawtucket.

Carter was blocked by the Yankees' date=' but a la Adam Stern he will be dealt to the Mets in the offseason.[/quote']

In other words for September purposes, he's ours.

wow' date=' I cant believe Javier Lopez is still pitching in the organization, I completely forgot about him.[/quote']

I wouldn't write Lopez off completely as damaged goods. he's been effective in the big leagues before, and theoretically is an adjustment away from doing so again. I'm pretty sure that we will see one of him and Billy Traber, and possibly both of them, back in Boston in a day ot so.

Well, the wrist is a funny area. 3 major nerves and multiple small branches mixed in with multiple important tendons and 2 major arteries in a very, very small space. Any time you injure it and require surgery, there is a chance for some complications. And in baseball players, wrist injuries can be very serious and can linger. Here' to hoping he recovers, cause any PT he takes away from AGon is gonna help the Yankees. That AGon guy is really slick on the D end and has helped the sox since his arrival.

Ok mentioning it once is fine, going back for seconds though is not:
Prospect|Yankees|The player in question is made of 150% pure awesomeness. Fear us.

Prospect|Sox|He could be good, but this is why he won't be.

Signing|Yankees|This is the missing piece. We'll win 160 games, and the umps will screw us out of 2.

Signing|Sox|Risky move, overpaid here, they'll regret this.

Injury|Yankees|They don't get hurt. Hypothetically, if they did, the recovery will be speedy with no impact to ability.

Injury|Sox|Everyone is a ticking time bomb. Once hurt, they'll never heal right.
Lowrie had to come out of a rehab start due to residual pain and weakness in his injured wrist.
At this point, I don't know how they can count him in the 2010 plans other than to compete for a backup job. There is no assurance that this wrist condition will not be chronic.
