We went 14 years between captains so we don't need to jump up and crown a new one right off..

We could go another million years without one, the "C" (or"A") only matters in the NHL.

Meaningless BS in baseball. I think it's embarrassing to watch Tek parade around like Terry O'Reilly.

ah I dont mind the jags Im actually a fan of Jack Del Rio, not a huge spurs fan im actually a Celtics fan and I never really got much into hockey but ive been to a Stars game so if i had to choose its inbetween the Bruins and the Stars.

Do you have a favorite Soccer team?

Favourite English Team: Blackburn

Favourite Champions League Team: AC Milan

For the record I've got good reasons why I support all of the teams I do. I'm by no means a bandwagoner, despite the inevitable fact that many people will see me in that light.

I like AC Milan, I dont follow them but its a bit hard to follow soccer in the states but I like AC Milan and the Italian Nat'l team.

and im sure you arent a bandwagon fan, the Jags are hardly a bandwagon pick and you arent a Lakers or Redwings fan so I dont see any obvious bandwagon teams.

There are a lot of players I like to watch and root for. Not necessarily certain teams.

But if I had to choose, Ajax and Manchester United.

AC Milan is a solid club though.

why not?

And why not? It may not be likely' date=' but there is a chance non the less.[/quote']

The Brewers have to put him on waivers, and he has to get through many of the shortstop starved teams in the AL. Furthermore, we have to hope that the Brewers would be open to trading him.

Well yes it's a long shot. But not completely impossible. I was just bringing him up as another name besides Guzman.

It wouldn't be a stretch to say that the Jags are the 4th most popular team in their home city.

The Dolphins, Then The Cowboys, and Then The Steelers, AND THEN The Jaguars.

yup I'd say you are right.

I hate the Steelers and Colts just as much as most New England fans do.

Cant stand the Steelers but I dont have much of an issue with the Colts (its just too hard for me to hate Peyton) really the Steelers and the Redskins are the only team I have any passionate dislike for.

Damn, I was just thinking about the surronding local teams. I've seen more Falcons and Buccaneers fans in Jacksonville, than Jags fans.

You see Steelers and Cowboys fans everywhere all over the earth and the Dolphins have always been pretty popular in Florida, I havent been here long so im just going on what memorabilia I see people wearing and ive seen alot of those teams, also remember that this city has a fairly large military base that brings in soldiers from all over the states not quite as big as San Diegos Military Base but still signifigant.

I do see quite a few TB fans too but not so many ATL fans since ive been here but like i said ive been here all of 3 1/2 months.

Cristian Guzman cleared waivers and can now be traded to any club, according to ESPN.com's Buster Olney. The 31-year-old shortstop is hitting .317/.337/.437 , but the $8MM salary he makes this year and next seems to have prevented teams from claiming Guzman.

I take this as good news. I'm glad the Sox didn't claim him.

I don't know what Theo is going to pull out of his hat for SS, but it's hard to believe they will play out the season with just Green and Woodward? at SS. LOL. What a mess. Maybe Pedroia will walk the plank and move to SS.

that suggested to me he was thinking about it

Twins released Grudzielanek. Could he be a possible fill in at SS?

Harang also passed through waivers. He's expensive. Could he be a capable 5th SP? I figured I'd throw his name out there with every other option.

Grud barely had adequate range at 2nd in his prime.

Him and SS are like oil and water.

K, I wasn't sure. Just kicking some names around.

Pedroia was a SS at Pawtucket, as I recall. They moved him to 2B when he came up to Boston, because they needed a 2nd baseman. Turns out he's an all-star 2nd baseman--one of the best I've ever seen.

Pedroia is the kind of competitor who can play anywhere. He could be a very good SS.He came up as a SS. But who is to play 2B? And will they move an all-star to another position? I don't think so. They are having trouble with taking a sub-par Ortiz out of the lineup, so they have a mindset.

They didn't move Pedroia to 2nd because they needed a 2nd baseman.

They moved him to second because he lacked the range to play SS, sport.

Harang hasn't had a good year, but he's been unlucky at times--not much run support. He's a big K guy, and might be better than anything they have beyond Lester and Beckett. I don't know about his soundness, or his salary. Might be too rich.

I also think Epstein is still thinking Buchholz is going to come through. But that 2.0 WHIP will have to come way down for him to be consistent.

Grudz at this point is more a 2nd baseman.
