Reddick is a beast he is already breaking out on his first couple weeks of Baseball...he will be very interesting to watch in the future

Not sure where I heard it, but compared to Mike Greenwell......a very, very, very underrated, unappreciated baseball player. If he turns out that good, I will take it.

EDIT:soxprospects is where i found the the greenwell comparison.

Needs to lay off the high fastball.
In his last AB he saw 6 pitches. Arguably, only 1 was in the strike zone. He took the Golden Sombrero last night. He has some nice tools, but he needs to work on them in the minors, or we will see more nights like last night.

Guardedly optimistic about Reddick. He hasn't really shaken out yet, and he's up mostly as an emergency option.

It's telling that they're making sure he gets into the lineup though, especially since they could have played Bay instead last night. The FO seems very high on Reddick. Considering his defensive talents and his great swing, I can see why.

he doesnt need more time in the minors...he needs more time to adjust to the MAJORS!....he was great in the minors. Once he adjusts, he will be good. Like Pedroia

Reddick out, Traber in?

Posted by Tony Massarotti, Globe Staff August 5, 2009 03:49 PM

The Red Sox have not yet made a formal announcement, but Josh Reddick is on his way back to the minor leagues with lefthander Bill Traber poised to take his spot on the 25-man roster for tonight's game with Tampa Bay. The Red Sox have an obvious need for a fresh arm in the wake of last night's 13-inning loss, during which manager Terry Francona emptied out his bullpen. All six Boston relievers appeared in the game and Clay Buchholz was due to enter in the 14th had the game gone that far.

Traber is 7-5 with a 3.32 ERA in 32 games (four starts) at Triple-A Pawtucket this year.

If one of them was called up, you still be bitching about letting young unproven guys getting into meaningful games.
