Well' date=' i don't have to wait for someone to come in here and tell us we need to overreact to a bad stretch.[/quote']

You let me know when it's OK to be negative.

1.5 game lead in the WC and fading fast.

Roadie in Tampa and the Bronx next week. Dire times ahead unless something else changes.

The f*** is wrong with this f***ing team?

Seriously.............

Well, aside from the horrendous line-up wide slump. Nothing. This is a team assembled to make money. And that they have accomplished. The rich boys in charge are happy. They will show a profit if the Sox don't make the playoffs.

Perception is reality in entertainment. The Sox have our attention. Sales are good.

Playoff ball is nice, but adds marginally to the bottom line.

All hail greed. Our team makes money! Woooohooooo!

While I can't argue with the tenor of your post, the offense scored 7 tonight. Should not have been an issue.

This loss is squarely on Papelbon's shoulders.

I don't mind this team making money. It means the team is viable and will continue to spend what it takes to have a strong team.

personally I think the team needs a shakeup -- get rid of the last remnants of the 2004 club and assemble a new playoff caliber core. We're still leaning too heavily on Tek and Big Papi and need to replace both players very soon.

So Paplebon blew a save? Wasn't his fault - It was Nick Green's throwing errors that sank the team. Is Lowery any better? He may be SS tomorrow.

If Papelbon does his job in the top of the inning and gets Cust out when he had him 1-2, Nick Green doesn't matter. Jonathan Papelbon is just not as good as he thinks he is IMO-and neither Nick Green nor Jed Lowrie have what it takes to be the every day shortstop. At least not this season.

Agreed. While I will always love David Ortiz, we cannot expect to see the '05 version ever again. Couple that with the loss of Manny Ramirez, and the failure to secure Mark Teixeira...well, let's just say I think they expected waaaay too much of Jason Bay myself.

So.

Now that I'm calmer.

WTF was Hale thinking sending Bay in the 8th?

probably the same thing he was thinking when he sent Lowell last week

There were none out. They were going to get him in with an out. He cost them a potentially big inning.

Too many innings from the bullpen again. 3+ innings three nights out of 5 will ultimately result in disaster.

The 2004 pen came together when the starters starting going deep into games. They had an incredible run of 6+ inning starts. They can't wait for Dice K. He's part of the problem. His whining to the Japanese Press shows me that he has no confidence that he can perform and he is looking for a scapegoat. So, much for the theory that we had excess pitching-- 7 or 8 starters. That's not depth when 5 or 6 of them suck.

Weren't there 2 outs when Lowell got thrown out. That is a big difference.

Can't wait for Jacoby to come in and tell us everything's fine' date=' and that this team doesn't need to make a move.[/quote']

Who said anything about trading for Adrian Gonzalez?

They need to make the deal for Halladay.

Oh how that would be juicy...especially for my fantasy team.:D Adrian has absolutely no protection in that ugly lineup. Although with LaRoche in, it wouldn't be too wise to trade many assets for Adrian, however good he is.
