I have a feeling LaRoche is it for the offense.

I have a feeling that's it as well.

As far as the Bay thing goes. I'm fine with them keeping him and seeing what happens. But if they were to trade him it wouldn't shock me. I could see it happening. If they make a trade that improves the every day offense that is.

The only other spot I could see the dealing maybe is at SS. But I think they will give Lowrie a little longer. And no way they replace Tek mid season. Especially not when he's having a better year then last season.

Have you seen Chris Duncan's 2006 stats' date=' when he was healthy?[/quote']

Yes I did, I live in St. Louis. I also looked at his stats from his 2006 post season when he was facing top tier talent, much like you would face regularly in the AL East. Very unimpressive. Also, compare his 2009 stats with his 2006 stats, nearly same number of games and at bats, but the outcomes are night and day. He sat out most of last season recovering from his "injuries". He is what he is, a AAA power hitter at best.

Duncan had some serious neck-disk problems the last couple of years which undoubtedly affected his performance. He is coming back from an disk operation, and sometimes it's a slow process to get back into form. He'll probably spend the rest of the year in Pawtucket

definite pre-cursor to Kotsay leaving cause if something happens to Baldelli, they'll slide Duncan in as the fourth OFer

We still need somebody at SS, come on guys....were hoping that Green continues to overachieve (which he really is no longer doing) and Lowrie (who is still an unproven) to anchor one of the most important positions on the diamond. We need to get better here.

We also need to get better at leadoff. Ellsbury is just not producing what we expect out of the leadoff position. I would not be surprised if he were maybe part of a deal to bring in somebody else.

Dont be surprised if they acquire someone like Marco Scutaro who fits both of those voids. Scutaro plays SS and hits leadoff....perfect fit.

I was thinking Scutaro after reading the Sox had scouts at the Blue Jays vs Guardians series. It would make some sense. But it's probably going to be fairly expensive. I believe he will be a type A FA.

I don't think Ellsbury is going anywhere. They may replace him at the lead off spot(which no one has hit good out of). But I think he's the CF for the foreseeable future.

The haul for Lugo is bigger than originally thought. The Sox receive a player to be named later or cash along with Duncan, according to the team's press release.

Duncan and a PTBNL? Might be Theo's best trade yet;)

Scutaro = Orlando Cabrera.

2004 OC? Or current OC?

Thanks Jacko. I thought that I read somewhere he would be a type A, but I could have been mistaken. If your right. Maybe his price won't be a s high. But still may be pricey considering it's a inter division trade.

I got this from MLBTR.

Takes you straight to 2B/SShttp://www.scribd.com/full/17307814?access_key=key-b51zwnu6cmptu1y7vn6

Not sure it's 100%. But they have Scuataro as a type A.

f*** him. Why would we pay something significant for a 30-something infielder who has been nothing throughout his career and only this season started doing anything useful (read; I don't trust him)?

He's a good fit for this season. Plus they might be able to get picks for him in the off season. I don't think it will be a top 10 guy, but it will be more then what they had to give for Laroche if I had to bet.

Scutaro would be an excellent fit, he can play a good SS, get on base, and allows them to move Ellsbury down the order again.

Just don't know what it would take to get him.

so let him overachieve for us

Career OPS under .700.

His stats will be corrected before year's end.

Let them be corrected with us, right?

Or we could jump on and ride this guys career year and cash in on picks at the end of the season. If the price isn't too steep of course. I don't recommend trading anyone of real significance though.

His OBP 33 days ago was .427, it's down to .384, yea, let's ride him while he's red-hot.

Maybe he's crashing down. Or maybe it's just a slump. But he be good insurance for Lowrie. And could possibly hit lead off.

Alrighty, then.

I'd be happy to call it a slump if this wasn't the first year the 33 year old Scutaro has done anything remotely useful.

Logic:

This guy uses it.
