How do you know that it won't be the Red Sox they're trying to catch?

 

I think you're Yankee hatred is getting in the way of your Red Sox fandom. However, your comment makes me curious how many other people on the board feel the same way.

 

Personally, if given the choice, I would rather the Rays lose than the Red Sox, in order to give the Yankees the best chance to make the playoffs.

They could catch us. If we fall behind the Yankees and if our chances of catching them seem slim, I will root against the Rays. Until then, I hope they catch you and beat you for the wild card. I want utter destruction of the Yankee empire.

Pretty bad play by Upton. Completely fooled by a line drive that was practically right at him. Tricky play though for outfielders, but he needs to make it.

 

Regardless, I'm more than prepared for another Rays comeback.

 

EDIT: Very nice job by Matt Thornton. I'm not sure if the Sox plan to go back to Bobby Jenks again in the ninth...
