It is possible that they might be showcasing him for a trade. I don't buy the official explanation.

I believe them. Before the season even began they talked about giving some of the starters rest at some point in the season.

 

By doing this, they are essentially showcasing Buck while giving guys rest.

Should be a fun game. Lowell is supposed to return to the team Friday as well.

 

EDIT: The Jays were scouting him in his last start. They'll likely be in attendance on Friday.

I'm a little disappointed to see them showcasing Buchholz because I think he'll be a great starter one day. But hey, they're the experts, not me.
