Yeah, Dylan never did much of significance. Like beating up Paris Hilton. He did, however, nail Joan Baez.

She was babelicious at the time.

By the way, Joan Baez used to work at the parts counter at the old Boston Cycles (motorcycles) store on Boylston St. in Brookline, Ma.

It wasn't like Hanson was wild and missing the zone. He was ahead 2 strikes on both Ortiz and Varitek.

Right, he was getting ahead on the hitters. And the bases were loaded. If he was walking batters on 4 or 5 pitches then I'd take a few pitches but Ellsbury was probably sitting on a fastball and he got one, but it was in a good location.

It's not like he is a power hitter who can take it deep. With Ellsbury, a walk is just about as good as a hit.

He hit .332/.403/.538 at 19 years old in Rookie ball, then hit .322/.390/.511 at 20 years old in Single A.

Who scores more today: Red Sox or US soccer?

It's only the 4th now so I'd say the Sox have a chance of scoring 2-8 runs.

I don't think he was trying to take him deep, I think he was just trying to make solid contact. It's easy to say it wasn't a good move because he grounded out, but at the time I think it made sense to sit on a first pitch fastball. No one's been hitting Hansen's breaking stuff.

US up 2-0!

EDIT: I am the definition of a bandwagoner when it comes to soccer.

What's soccer? :dunno:

My point is that since he is a singles hitter, a walk is as good as a hit in that situation, so he shouldn't have been so anxious.

Right, I don't think he was being anxious though. I think he made a strategic decision to sit on a fastball because the pattern Hansen was displaying was to get ahead on the batters and then try to nibble with his breaking stuff (which no one is hitting). Probably 90% of the time when someone walks the bases loaded, they groove a fastball to try to get ahead on the next batter. If Hansen was wild, then sure, Ellsbury should have tried to work a walk. But Hansen was right around the plate, and I don't think he was going to walk in a run.

Penny has hit two rockets to 3B. If his arm goes dead' date=' he could bang a few balls off the Monstah.[/quote']

They should have had him pinch hit last night instead of Lowell.

19 2/3 scoreless...really now?

He's a preeeeeetty good pitcher. Maybe Drew, Youkilis, Bay can get something going next inning.

DAMMIT

Dusty is realy strugling

I really wish Tito would flip him and Drew in the order. What could it hurt? Pedroia was hitting .328/.419/.423 before he was moved to the leadoff spot.
