Christ people. Its not racism. I said his country was dumb as s***. Its a third world country. Not exactly breaking new ground here.

categorizing people as dumb simply based on their nationality = racism. we can call it ethnic discrimination if you'd prefer

Okay. No one should get their panties in a bunch over what was said, but it WAS pretty unnecessary given that it has nothing to do with anything but provoke another s*** storm of personal attacks. Please, avoid these types of comments.

but they're fun.... I do find it funny how this country has been turned into one of wusses and wimps who are quick to point at anything controversial and yell racism sexism, homophobia, whatever. Time to tell it like it is people and stop being so damn sensitive. That being said, the argument at hand is about Gardner and Ellsbury.

its more about pointing out the irony of you calling him dumb cause hes dominican when you resort to a comment like that when having a baseball argument

Not what I was doing. I said the country as a whole was dumb. Check out educational rankings if you wish to decry that statement

You are a pompous ass and a snob, always have been. I've "known" you since 2004. Cut out the ignorant s*** and get back to baseball.

I wouldn't call it racism. Just ignorant.

How original. Thanks for the j/k, but doubt you mean it.

At any rate....wish the Globe would post the line ups so we can see where Ells will be in the line up this evening. Go spudboy mojo! :D

Soooo.... I like Ellsbury in the bottom of the order.

I think he can work out his issues and be effective at the top of the order, and if he can, I like him much better there.

I agree with you that people need thicker skin. I'm just saying that there was no place in the conversation for the comment because it can only upset people instead of proving any type of point. Anyway, back to the conversation.

Well, Gardner seemed to make a case today. 5-5 with a triple and a homer. His line now...

.305/.375/.443.

Ellsbury?

.305/.352/.399

Just sayin

Where did I say he was better. Read the post before you make a stupid conclusion. I was trying to point out that it is too early to make any judgements, but to say anyone is better right now is stupid. I was responding to the post made previously that categorically declared Ellsbury the far and away better ballplayer.

He is, lol.

Superior defense, superior power, better base-runner, CF on a 1st-place team.

Come back when Gardner ain't riding the bench in favor of MELKY f***ING CABRERA.

Yeah, BIG difference in power. Ells and Gardner have the same amount of homers and Gardner's SLG is higher by 70+ points. I am telling you right now, that the power they offer will be minimal regardless. The whole message that I am trying to get across to you is that for these guys, OBP will be supreme. When they are on base, things happen. Pitchers need to worry about them, catchers need to worry about them and they can take the base anyway.

And btw, Melky is having a better offensive yr than Ellsbury too.
