I'd rather be in the locker room, but that's just me.

...did I say that out loud?

...It'd definitely be interesting to hang out with Theo up there, tho. I don't think I'd have a whole lot to say myself (not a very skilled conversationalist), but it'd be interesting.

Personally' date=' I said, "Oh bother," as I swirled my snifter of brandy. Then I lit a new pipe and continued watching the game and perusing the Hampton Literary Review. Like the rest of you, pretty much.[/quote']

He he he he!:D

I suppose that's where we're different. I like to come to this board, or watch the game with friends, and actually know what I'm talking about.

I think if Theo were here he would have a lot to contribute to the discussion and I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that.

Of course, with your professed lack of interest in the "heady" part of the game, it makes me wonder what you've been spouting off about for 14,491 posts.

Don't be a wisenheimer, Example. I didn't say that I am not interested in the "heady" part of the game, so stop being snide. We are different, because I realize that Theo nor anyone else who works in baseball would be on this forum during a game, if ever. We've only got fans on this forum and every other forum. We don't work at baseball. For me baseball is an emotional outlet. You need to loosen up. If you keep acting so uptight, you'll eventually snap and kill someone. It's not healthy. Professional baseball people can't treat the game as an emotional outlet, because that would affect their performance. We are not Theo or baseball professionals even if we manage fantasy teams.

Leather armchair? Sitting in the "den"?

Sounds pretty good to me Beaneater.

Well, actually, the truth is more like "insomniac in a dorm room in Africa with a can of Pringles", but hey, you take what you can get.

Holy cow, a 1-2-3 inning with less than 25 pitches!

Well, you may not have surrounded yourself with good looking young quiff, but I'd party with you any day! What kind of brandy?

While I kind of agree with ms_sox' date=' I think tonight's discussion about Dice is relevant to this game. In the absence of action promoted posts, why not? As long as you guys don't get nasty with each other. Then I would say PM or go to another thread. This game is very winnable.[/quote']

Hence why I said such convo's can/do happen in GT's..but allow for the emotional "fun/vent" outbursts as part of the GT package - or as sports as whole, for that matter.

I'm not into the stat/player discussions, since I feel no desire to play manager (or whatever) but it doesn't bother me that many many people - including all pro sports writers, heh - do enjoy it.

Everyone enjoys things in different ways...live and let live as they say.

Oh, you're wrong about me a700. I'm probably the least uptight person you could meet. Most of my friends would say I'm one of the most laid back people they know. I roll with the punches. I don't freak out when the Sox don't win, or when they don't sign the player they were going after.

I do use baseball as an emotional outlet, but I'm not the type of person who needs an outlet for pent up frustration of anger at the world. Perhaps you are and that's why you don't understand me and expect that I will eventually "snap" and kill someone? :dunno:

In case you haven't noticed, LIFE HAS BEEN PRETTY GOOD FOR RED SOX FANS MORE OFTEN THAN NOT SINCE 2003. Emotionally I get a lot out of it, and it tends to be a positive experience... not a frustrating one. Even in games where they lose I'm generally assured that there's another game tomorrow. Whenever I get pissed off about the Red Sox, I quickly remind myself that I could be a fan of the Mariners or Twins, Marlins or Pirates and I become greatful again.

Well, uh... nope, it's pretty much just Pringles here. Sorry.

So how many times have the bases been loaded now, both sides? As often as it feels like?

Lugo wanted to keep his job I guess...something lit a fire under his ass today.

You know, Pringles were developed and originally made by GF in Quincy Massachusetts.

Back to the game. 10-5.
