Other than Halladay, if anyone is going to take it away from Greinke, it's King Felix. He's really come into his own this year. I also think Scott Feldman should replace Wakefield on this list.

Zach Greinke is my CY right now. Beckett is probably my #2 based on team performance and team reliance.

That's right now. What Greinke has done is very impressive. I doubt he will get enough wins to be the Cy winner. Great stats, but he is on a loosing team. Too bad.

My prediction: Sabathia will win it if the Yankees win the division. He will finish strong' date=' and it's NY.[/quote']

No chance. Yankee Stadium won't allow him to hurdle Grienke, Hernandez, or Halladay.

Greinke, Halladay, Beckett, Hernandez, Jackson and Verlander are all having better years.

Sabathia's ERA is not so good.

And voters love ERA.

Posted
I don't think he is saying that Sabathia's numbers right now are good enough to win the Cy Young. If Sabathia was to have a great final two months it's possible that he could win it. However, all things considered, I highly doubt it.
Posted
Even if Sabathia threw 3 straight complete game shutouts his ERA would still only be 7th in the AL. Too many pitchers are having GREAT years in the AL. I'm sure his WHIP would improve and his win total would entice voters but his ERA, ERA+ etc. would still be inadequate.

I believe CC should be part of the discussion as well.

This is going to be a great AL Cy Young final stretch. Each pitcher has a solid case.

No chance. He's way too far behind in ERA.
