Dick used to be a popular name. My father and grandfather were both named Dick. They called my grandfather big Dick and my father little Dick.

I bet u were tiny dick. considering you name players whos name resembles a dick im guessing yours is small.

I know Dick can be a name unto its own, but I'll still never understand how people can get "Dick" as a nickname out of "Richard."

or chronic juvenile mindset?

Maturity....it's all a sham. ;)

I don't know about you guys, but I refuse to dignify this childish behavior any further.

Haha, okay, Rusty Kuntz is pretty f***ing funny.

Imagine growing up with that handle?

I tell ya, it's child abuse...

Was searching for something else entirely and stumbled across one of those vast number of 19th century players who get a brief cameo in the history books:

Charlie Manlove, catcher

His nickname was Chick. As in, Chick Manlove. They weren't above ribald humor in the 19th century so I can just imagine why this guy didn't last long in the fledgling MLB.

I was searching for Rickie Weeks actually, seeing how one of my Anti-Fantasy picks was doing. But I guess that's funny enough that I can let you get away with it.

As the thread starter, I want to explain where I got the idea of "Hall of Name". I have to credit my Father. He was a Biology Professor at Boston College until he died in 1975.

At one point, he had a female student from S. Korea. Her name was "Yu Bin Fuk".

I just thought I'd explain this. I hope I haven't opened the door to names outside MLB. That was not my intent.

So far, I like Rusty Kuntz the best.

Rusty Kuntz is the most unfortunate name by far ha, but i remember the first time i read Fukudome in a news paper i giggled, probably because my adolescent mind read it like this Fuk-U-Do-Me.

Not to hijack the thread, but I'm a bio major at BC. Interesting.
