Before the knee injury' date=' Lugo gets to Pagan's ball easily.[/quote']

That's what I remember of him at Tampa. But during his tenure in Boston, if he catches up with that grounder he throws it away.

But his UZR was Jeter-esque.

Every time they say Santana's name the image of the guitar player pops into my head.

Sorry' date=' but what is UZR?[/quote']

Ultimate Zone Rating.

It's a semi-accurate measure of how much ground a fielder covers, in layman's terms.

Another semi-meaningful metric. How is it measured?

Please don't get me wrong. This stuff is new to me. I'm just not sure about the usefulness of such a stat.

Remember that defense is hard to measure, but by accounting how many balls that are hit to a fielder he can convert into outs is the most accurate way to define how good his defense is.

Since i'm lazy, i'll give you a link that explains the UZR formula better than i could.

Thanks. I took a quick look but it's too lengthy for me at the moment. I want to see the game. I bookmarked and will read it all later.
