We hired him for 2008 because of the influx of kids. Well, Hughes and Kennedy sucked last yr. Chamberlain got hurt before he came back this yr decent. Melancon comes up and all of a sudden loses all control. Robertson comes up and sucks. Veras and Ramirez do well last yr then suck this yr. Albaladejo the same. Coke is the only guy he can pin his cap to and he hasnt been the best. It is time to fire him. It may not be his fault, but this is the worst staff in baseball right now.

It too early to fire him

If this staff is still sucking like this, then he's gone MAYBE Giradi later in the year (Brings out the wrong pitchers in the wrong time...Why did he bring out Veras tonight?)

They're trying to get Veras out of his funk, because, internally, they probably so believe that he is going to be one of their key pieces to success later in the year.

As for the situation tonight, he only gave up one run. Also, what who would you have preferred they go to?

How about FIRING CASHMAN? He's the one who put the team together.

The following players are not worthy major league players:

Veras

Ramirez

Albaladejo

Aceves

Berroa

Robertson

These players constitute more than 1/5 of your major league roster.

I'll give him a pass on Hughes and Cervelli since they are here due to injuries only. This team never wins a thing with the village idiot running the team. Bring in a GM who knows how to draft and fill holes.

If you give a person "chocolate" chips made out of rabbit turds and tell them to bake some cookies, then whose fault is it when the cookies taste like s***, the cook's or the person who gave him the chips?

The yankee pr machine discussing their minor league talent is like watching fox news reporting on george bush.

You know theyre both completely full of s*** but you have to watch them fail before the real truth is revealed...

I like Joba but hes a bullpen guy, we can agree hes certainly more effective from the pen in any case.

Hughes Kennedy Igawa Veras et al simply arent that good inspite of the ballwashing scribes that the Yankee pr machine unleashes on the gullible yankee supporters.

The sox in the mid late 90s had a list of prospects comparable to our current teams depth in the minors.

Tomo Okha was 14-0 in Pawtucket and Brian Rose was the minor league pitcher of the year, Carl Pavano was the prize of the organization and Robinson ""CY"'Checo came from Japan and was supposed to be the next coming of Mario Soto.

I'm not sure any of these guys won a game in Boston.

Now look at the Yankees AAA club.

they were 11-0 at 1 point this spring weren't they, i know they were on fire.

the difference between AAA ball and the big boy show is amazing and the pressure eats a lot of these kids up not to mention the patience and discipline of the major league hitters opposed to the kids in the minors...

Its really a crap shoot because raw talent doesnt always = a major league pitcher.

Well, you gotta live with the inconsistencies of youth. I think the problem we have is that we have had to dip into the minors all too often and way too early. If the yankees used the path set by the upper managers, Hughes wouldnt have seen NY until this yr. He would not have debuted in 2007. They've tinkered with his windup and with his stuff. We saw what his new windup and stuff can do in the game he threw vs Detroit. But he obviously needs more work as evidenced by the last 2 games. He has inconsistent command of his curveball, and he inconsistently uses the changeup. I am more impressed by the fastball and cutter, but if the hitter knows the curve isnt coming over the plate and the change isnt coming, it is just too easy. Hughes needs a full yr in the minors. The yankees need to demote him once Wang comes back, and from the sounds of it, Wang might make his last rehab appearance tomorrow I think in SWB. From the sounds of it, he's been really, really solid.

You know, in a way...I envy Jacko sometimes.

In his world..it never rains, the sun is always at his back...I swear, if there was a tsumami coming, he think it would be great weather for surfing.
