Anyone remember being nervous when the Yankees acquired this guy?

Who this guy? http://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/MLB/Headshots/140x170/6261.jpg

Pshht no.

Phil Coke was a throw-n. Lefty pitcher who is old for his league. He has not one plus pitch. He gets by on location and guile, but he wont continue to do so at the big league level, or so the yankee brass thinks. If he was still in the org, he'd likely be passed over, so he is an add on.

.

Gonna keep this little nugget of information for future use.

Cause we really put our best foot forward with Marte pitching against righties, Edwar and Alby in for clutch situations and the like. Pettitte had nothing yesterday, but still had a gutty performance that should have gotten him a win

I'm not impressed with the Yankee pitching staff.

Too bad the Red Sox have such a soft defense, otherwise I'd pick them as favorites over NYY.

The starting rotation, outside of Sabathia, is very shaky. It's a crapshoot when Burnett takes the mound and Pettitte is due for a regression.

lol, playing for one run in the first inning against the Orioles. Brilliant.

EDIT: And, once again, AJ looks shaky early.

EDIT 2: And everything is in the middle of the plate. But, thankfully, Joe played for one run.

Jacko, if you don't think this team has pitching problems that might really kill them in the postseason you're delusional.

Nonsense. They are amazing. Other teams should pay hommage to the Yankees for deigning to take the field with them.

Seriously, consider who you are talking to. You might as well ask John Sterling to focus on calling the game accurately and to cut down on the schtick.

Fair. I mean, we have Yankee fans coming on here comparing this team to the 1998 team. That's way past the point of even being a homer.

We have our problems. AJ is showing that right now as his inconsistency from start to start which is maddening. But, in a playoff sense, being able to throw CC, Pettitte, and AJ out there 1-3 with the 8-9 of Hughes and Mo is pretty nice. Joba is a wildcard at the 4 spot and thank god we dont have to go to a 5th guy. Our staff isnt nearly as deep as the 98 team, but we do run 3 pretty nice starters out there and a pretty strong back end of the pen. To go along with a better offense than anyone can throw at us, I dont see how we arent the favorites. That being said, we have been both the favorites and the underdogs since 2004 and have won a series, so we'll see how that works out for us.

Lol.

That's about all there is to be said about this post.

It'll be crucial if you can keep it.

Dont anticipate that being a problem.

When have you ever?

Going into every season, it's rainbows, puppies, and ice cream for the Yankees. You only get critical after the fact. You never anticipate struggle or failure.

Dont anticipate that being a problem. 2 game snag vs Baltimore aside' date=' we have CC going tomorrow and a bunch of off days coming down the stretch[/quote']

There's a very good chance that they will lose Monday and Tuesday. By the time the Yankees head out to L.A., who knows how close they'll be.

This is pretty ridiculous. Awful job by Jeter on the bases and then Damon in the field. They struggled in the last two days, but today they're just embarrassing themselves.
