Not all of us wanted Torre gone, but yeah, I agree.

But most of this isn't even Girardi's fault, it's just that people who wanted Torre out shouldn't be calling for Girardi out as well.

Yes it is.

Couple pointers:

Why is Wang still in the rotation? He's costing the Yanks ballgames.

Why s Teix still hitting 3rd and A-Rod 4th? No one in their right mind will pitch to A-Rod with Cano hitting behind him. Everyone knows he's a head case, so when he's struggling you need to find a way to help him produce. Torre knew this.

Why has Swisher not been benched yet? His dumb decisons are costing the Yanks ballgames, he needs a mental break and a pep talk. Torre would have adressed this long ago.

Why has Girardi not intruscted his team not to swing away when ahead in the count? It's a fact around the league that Yankee hitters are on auto-swing when ahead in the count, so everyone's throwing junk when behind in the count and letting them get themselved out instead of taking their BBs. The last Cano AB is a good example.

Girardi's not cut-out to manage this team.

Letting Torre go was a gigantic mistake.

Yeah, Girardi has made some mistakes, but he is still putting a very talented team out onto the field every day. The players deserve much more of the blame then Girardi does.

He's making too many mistakes.

The team the Yankees have constructed (on paper) should not be playing second-fiddle to the Red Sox, and a lot of the blame on that being the case right now belongs to Girardi.

And don't even get me started on his bullpen management.

And you're completely wrong about A-Rod. He is getting pitches to hit. He is just not hitting.

Again, he's a head case, that's what i meant by "Help him produce", i'd bet money he'd hit a lot better with Teixeira behind him, because he'd shed a lot of the pressure he has right now to produce.

You're making comments about things you don't know. You have no idea if A-Rod really feels that way. Deal with facts.

His bullpen management? He isn't working with much. What, exactly, are you going to pin on him?

Lol got your panties in a bunch?

If you have any doubt in your mind that, (and i'll sound like Gom) while watching the games, A-Rod looks DESPERATE to blast one out of the park, you're either blind or you don't watch the games.

Lol, I expect the posters who jumped all over the guy who talked about Bard's eyes to do the same in this case.

Jose Veras.

I think no more needs to be said.

Jose Veras, because of the injury to Bruney, was given a bigger role. He proved he couldn't succeed, and was relegated to only pitching in situations when the game was out of hand. He is no longer on the team.

"Eyes"

and

"Swing"

You can easily tell when a hitter's off-balance from swinging for the fences.

But i guess the fact that he's hitting under .180 at home while employing the biggest uppercut swing i've seen on the Yanks since Tino Martinez' glory days account for nothing.

Oh well, i shall stick to facts.

A-Rod is SUCKING.

Right. Common, are we really going to pin A-Rod's failures on Girardi. I advocated in the other thread for switching them in the lineup, but lets blame A-Rod for A-Rod's failures.

Fair enough.

However, i expect you to acknowledge the fact that A-Rod is swinging for the fences in every swing and it's hurting him big time.

As long as Girardi hasn't made any adjustments to put his players in the best positions to be successful, he's at fault. The players are held responsible to an extent, but at some point it reaches the manager. They're all at fault, and Girardi is responsible for a good portion of it.

I'm not going to do that. His swing looks bad right now, but we don't know why. It's more likely just because he's struggling in, in my opinion.

How? Every manager makes a few mistakes. He has not done anything that has consistently hurt this team. The thing I get the most upset about his how often he bunts, but that is more of a philosophy thing than anything else.

But that's the whole point.

His mechanics are way off, specially when behind in the count, he is not shortening up his swing at all, thus all the strikeouts and weak grounders, mostly on low-outside breaking stuff which he is way ahead off.

His strikeout totals, every year, even if he is playing well, are always high. This is mainly due to the fact that he doesn't shorten up, which you pointed out. That is no different than any other year.

In one of his MVP years, 2005, he set a career high in K's.
