Zobrist hitting the homer is just one of those things. What happened with Dillon was garbage. Ball hits the bag' date=' goes into LF, and Damon throws the ball down the right field line.[/quote']

The Zobrist HR was so frustrating because it was on 1-2.

I would have liked to see Cervelli hitting once the count got to 2-0.

EDIT: So Navarro has given the Yankees two runs, and Damon has given the Rays one run.

WTF happened to CC? Jesus christ' date=' he went from unhittable to sucking quickly[/quote']

He can't suck, he's the absolute best!

Dominant, just dominant!

Hopefully what has happened to CC the last two starts is not going to become a trend. The funny thing about it is that his last two starts are practically mirror images of each other. CC cruises through four, looking great, and then things turn around in the fifth. It didn't hurt them last Saturday, due to the big lead, but it has really hurt today.

Wow, what an incredibly disappointing inning.

Teixeira gets ahead 2-0 in the count, and hits a weak grounder to short.

A-Rod walks.

Posada gets ahead 1-0, gets a fastball middle in and up, and pops it up.

Cano walks.

Swisher gets ahead 2-0, and on 2-2, pops up a pitch that was almost directly down the middle.

Definitely should have been able to do something that inning.

EDIT: With that being said, to me the offense just does not seem to be clicking. They scored 2 runs on Wednesday, scored the luckiest 8 runs I have ever seen on Thursday, and have done absolutely nothing offensively today.

we have 3 innings vs their poor pen. If we keep this at 2' date=' we should get back in this[/quote']

I hope you're right, but they don't seem to have too many guys swinging the bats well right now.

I thought Jeter had it. What is up with our guys swinging like they have no idea what they are swinging at or where it is going. 3-1, Damon swings, pops it up and cant find it. Cmon now.

Absolutely incredible. 3-1 fastball, great pitch to hit, and another pop-up. Jackson, I don't care how bad the Rays bullpen is, the Yankees are really struggling offensively.

Holy s***, this is so frustrating. 3-1 fastball down the middle to A-Rod, fouled it back. 3-2 fastball down the middle to A-Rod, fouled it back. He was ahead 3-0, and got out. Same with Damon. They have three hits today.

If they tie the game this inning, it would be a huge break. The 3-2 pitch to Posada was clearly strike three.

If Gardner was running he probably goes to third on that single.

Huge spot here for Swisher.

hey girardi' date=' DONT USE MO IN NON SAVE SITUATIONS. HE ALWAYS SUCKS IN THEM[/quote']

You mean like almost all of the other other closers in the league?

This is a pretty ridiculous claim. His lack of success in non-save situations is a coincidence, his mindset is not different. On top of that, I can only remember two times this year, including today, that he failed in non-save situations.

However, here's the actual reason why they should not have used Rivera. Sabathia had really been throwing the ball well the last couple of inning, and he had only thrown 101 pitches. This way Sabathia could face the bottom part of the order, and if the game goes into extra innings, you have Rivera for the top of the order.

There're significant sample sizes within the league to back up his claim.

You stating otherwise is ignorant.
