Wow. That is Delmon Young's second huge hit in the last two games. The Tigers have to be a bit worried right now with Figaro pitching tonight to keep their lead.

I'm pulling for the Twins, and this has been a pretty exciting week for them. I've watched nearly every game, and they've been pretty awesome (at least in parts)

Wow, here come the Royals. I wonder if the Twins' relievers are just burnt out at this point.

EDIT: Well, I have to be honest, I didn't see this coming. However, I really think Nathan should have been in instead of Rauch. In the biggest moment of your season, I think the Twins should have their best on the mound.

I think Orlando Cabrera might have just made a mistake there. That ball was hit so hard at Punto, and on a line, that I doubt the runner at third got a good jump. I'll bet that Cabrera might have had a play on the runner going home after they got the force out at second. Instead, he didn't even glance home. It would have been an unconventional decision, and I really have no idea where the base runner is, but considering how important that run was it might have behooved him to go for it.

Agree. Not the first time Gardenhire has made a poor decision.

Gotta save your closer for the scary and pressured packed ninth inning situations, which never occur in the eighth...

Twins win. Couple points.

Nathan missed his spots a lot that inning, and got away with some really awful pitches in the zone.

On the second out it seemed like Span was planning on playing the ball on a hop, and then realized at the last second that he could catch it. It looked like a nice play, but it was caused by a poor read.

Here's how I'm looking at it: with three games left for both teams combined, the Tigers need two or three to go their way. Zero would give the Twins the title. One forces a one game playoff. Is that right?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's correct.

Yup, that's how I was looking at it going into the weekend. There were six possible results, and the Twins need five of them to go in their favor to force a playoff. It looks a lot more realistic now.

It will take something miraculous for them not to be tied going into tomorrow. It's a shame, really. Not for the Tigers or anything, but for making the first round mildly interesting. Minnesota shits the bed against the NYY. Regular season, post season, harvest season, wabbit season, you name it.

I'd be shocked if that series went to 4 games.

Ne'ermind, when I said it would take something miraculous, it was 4-0 in the 8th, and the Sox had two on with no outs. Now it's 4-1, and the Tigers have 2 on with 0 outs.

And then Ordonez and Cabrera proceeded to lineout and GIDP respectively.

I think we're probably looking at a one game playoff. I don't see either the Twins are the Tigers losing tomorrow. I give Ozzie Guillen a lot of credit for really caring about these games, especially yesterdays.

Deserve is a subjective word. I don't know enough about them to make subjective statements about them. In terms of talent, they should win that division. If they fail, so be it.

If tigers lose tomorrow and today and twins win tomorrow, the tigers will be called "The mets of the AL."

Actually, that's what i was getting at, based on talent, the collapse this team is suffering is unacceptable, and Jimmy L. has a lot of the blame for running his SP's to the ground.

Game. If there was a one game playoff I wonder who Leyland would start? Jackson on three days rest or Porcello on regular rest? I'd have to guess Porcello.

EDIT: Baker vs. Porcello would be a very interesting matchup.

EDIT 2: It's too bad the better part of both of tomorrow's game will be on at the same time as the Giants (for me personally).

Stupid Dodgers. Or perhaps, stupid Rockies, allowing 5 runs. Maybe they can get it back...

Well, I'll say this one thing...if it comes down to Dodgers vs NYY, that's the one time I'll root for the Dodgers.

But it won't come to that, right, Red Sox? Right. ;)
