Yankees GM Brian Cashman a few minutes ago, and he confirmed Jon Heyman's story that the Yankees had offered Andruw Jones a minor-league contract to compete with Melky Cabrera and Brett Gardner for the starting centerfield job. Jones' agent Scott Boras turned down the offer, Cashman said. If Jones and Boras can't find a major-league contract -- and certainly, that seems like a longshot -- then the Yankees could get back into the mix for Andruw

I saw this story and was a little surprised. If he's willing to come to camp on a Minor League deal I'd be more than happy to take him.

Ya, I stated earlier in the offseason if the right circumstances came about, that the Sox should invite him to camp. Its a very low risk hi reward type of deal too.

But knowing Boras, now he knows the Yanks have interst so he'll be trying to squeezeout every penny he can.

Did the Yankees also make an offer for a huge crate of HGH to go in their special HGH refridgerator next to Pettitte's locker in the new stadium?

It's not a "special" HGH refrigerator, since HGH doesn't have to be kept on low temps, the fridge you're talking about keeps ice cream and Yoo-Hoos for Joba and C.C, the HGH is kept in a bag IN Pettite's locker.

hahahahahahahaha lmfaozz very funny pal.

I'm pretty sure Jones just rejected the offer because he's looking for a guaranteed roster spot.

Yeah exactly. But it doesnt look likely that he'll get that.

I know. He should have taken it because he's getting paid anyway, so he has very little to lose. He might as well try for a shot to get even more money.

I gotta think someone who discovers they arent happy with their OF during ST will ring up Jones and he probably won't cost as much as some might think since the Dodgers will be paying him until god knows when

Bring him in...get another former juicer in the mix.

It's a good thing we cheer for a team that would never ever allow on it's roster somebody's who's used steroids, eh?

Pay attention, bro...I've been probably the most vocal here in saying that I think a lot of Sox players have used PEDs...including Varitek, Damon, Nomar, Ortiz, Manny, Trot, Kapler, and going back a bit I suspect Troy O'Leary, John Valentin, Mo Vaughn, Carl Everett.

Just so happens that Andrue Jones is one I've suspected since way back.
