TO? f*** that.

We need a speed guy. We should have signed Devery Henderson. Does Torry Holt still have any speed left (haven't watched the Rams much, if at all), enough to be considered a decent speed receiver? I wouldn't mind giving him a whirl if he does.

No, Holt has lost a lot of steps.

TO to the Bucs is iffy. They don't have veteran QB or Coach. There is no one there to keep him in line.

ESPN reported the cap hit for TO is $9million (as previously mentioned).....but that it would have been a cap hit of $8million to keep him this year. Granted after this year the Cowboys stand to save about 6million, but to cut him and have your cap hit go up shows how bad things really were.

With McFadden in the backfield and Russell behind center, he'll probably have more success than Moss did when he was there.

Russell is terrible. Everyone got so excited that he could throw the ball 70yards from his knees, but other than that he hasn't done well. It would be interesting to see what he could do with a half decent organization....but as it stands now I can't see him progressing that far.

Niners GM leaves door open for T.O.

While putting the Kurt Warner saga to rest Thursday, general manager Scot McCloughan left the door open -- if just a crack -- for the 49ers to pursue another famous name. McCloughan did not rule out signing receiver Terrell Owens, who was released by the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday. During an interview on KNBR radio, McCloughan initially gave a vague answer about Owens by explaining that the 49ers evaluate every free agent on the market. Brian Murphy, co-host of the "Murph & Mac" morning show, pressed the issue by saying, "So official statement from the 49ers: 'Not closing the door?' " "Correct," McCloughan said.

The Buffalo Bills decided to take a chance on the talented but high-maintenance receiver, signing Owens to a $6.5 million, one-year deal Saturday. ESPN.com's John Clayton broke the story on Saturday.

here's that quote:

"I'm leaving America's team [for] North America's team," Owens said at a news conference.

Owens, though, isn't worried about his perceived selfishness in Dallas.

"That's all hearsay," Owens said. "If you look at all the comments coming from my teammates with the Cowboys the last three years, it's all been positive. Prior to that, I really don't want to get into it."

Should be entertaining watching what happens between TO and his new QB Trent Edwards.

TO: "I beat to my own beat...I'm moving from America's team to North America's team."

I swear he said that.

TO: "I beat to my own beat...I'm moving from America's team to the greater Niagara & southern Ontario's team" is what he should've said

ESPN has been reporting that Cutler wants out of Denver now and has lost faith in the Denver brass.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3968896

After a contentious conference call between quarterback Jay Cutler and the Denver Broncos' brass on Monday, the situation has gone "from bad to worse", according to a source close to the situation.

After the phone call, the first source said Cutler would rather be traded now if Denver isn't going to commit to him long-term. The first source maintains Cutler was totally on board with McDaniels until the trade talks story broke and that trust is Cutler's biggest problem with McDaniels and the organization.

The first source said Cutler is still mulling over whether he will show up for the team's offseason conditioning program, which begins Monday. The Broncos' source stated that Cutler needs to meet with McDaniels in person to keep the situation moving in the right direction.

What else is new, T.O. already getting acquainted with people in Buffashit. Captain dipf*** wants number 81, and insists he will be wearing 81 next season. One issue - James Hardy already wears #81.

Why do I smell a retarded mini-soap opera on the horizon?

Long time Pat headed to NY

http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/03/jets_confirm_iz.html

The Jets have sent out a release confirming the signing of Patriots special teams captain/linebacker Larry Izzo.

"I am very excited about the opportunity to play for the Jets and Mr. [Woody] Johnson," Izzo said in the release. "I'm grateful for the chance to be reunited with [special teams] coach [Mike] Westhoff, who played a key role early in my career, and look forward to playing for Coach [Rex] Ryan as he brings his passionate, physical style of football to New York. Having spent my entire career in the AFC East, I'm very familiar with the Jets' incredibly loyal, knowledgeable and passionate fans and this is an amazing chance to work hard and make them proud."

I bet Snyder loved getting this news:

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/2009/03/haynesworth_indicted.html

Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth has been indicted on two misdemeanor traffic charges in Tennessee after an accident that seriously injured another driver.

District Attorney Kim Helper says Haynesworth faces charges of reckless driving and having expired registration.

Haynesworth, a former Tennessee Titan who signed with the Redskins last month, was released after surrendering Wednesday. Maximum punishment is six months in jail and a $500 fine on the reckless driving charge and 30 days and a $50 fine for the other charge.

The charges come from a Dec. 13 incident in which police say Haynesworth was trying to pass another driver, who crashed into a concrete median.

Haynesworth's agent didn't immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment.

...

Jason Reid reports that nothing has changed with Haynesworth's plan to participate in the team's offseason conditioning program, which begins Monday at Redskins Park.

Smith was chosen Sunday as the union's fourth leader in its 41-year history, and follows Upshaw, who died in August. The NFL outsider has served as an attorney in Washington.

I think this is the final nail in the Cutler ordeal. Now it will be who trades for him.

Cassel and 3rd round pick to Denver for Cutler and 2nd and 6th rounder....

Obviously I'm joking.

I guess TB will be in on him.

Minny has said there not interested(morons),

Miami maybe if they don't see Chad as more then a stopgap

Chicago should be taking a look

Jets should really be taking a look.

Detroit Mcdaniels could really have the last laugh

SF might have some interest

Any others?

TB - I'd welcome him, obviously, but I don't think management will want pay the return price for Cutler.

MIA - I doubt Parcells is interested, given Cutler's attitude lately and Parcells' general philosophy about winners.

CHI - They should, but they won't.

NYJ - They tried a similar move last summer, that didn't work out so great. I say unlikely.

DET - Probably where he ultimately ends up.

SF - See Miami. Though they definitely have more of a need for him than Miami does.

I assume you mean whiners. I wonder what they can get for him now that he's 'demanding a trade' and everyone knows it.

Schefter was on WEEI this morning. He basically said Cassel misunderstood the franchise tender and that when Schefter reported that after he signed it the pats can trade him anywhere his agents called him and told him Schefter was wrong.....Schefter had to talk to and correct them.

If true this is crazy, lot's of egg on their face. I will go back and listen to make sure I got it right.

EDIT: Schefter said after he reported it on NFLN he got a call from someone in the Cassel camp saying he was wrong because they didn't know about this.....he informed them that he was right, and it didn't matter what they knew once he signed it.

I find it hard to believe an agent could be that dumb. But who knows.
