I would have rather they worked out a deal for Street, but another real solid deal for Omar. I heard it rumored all afternoon but was shocked when it officially went down as I'm laying in bed at midnight and I hear about a press conference to announce the acquisition of JJ Putz on SNY. s*** was crazy, I was shocked.

Wow. The Mets should finally be able to wrap up well-pitched games.

They just need to add to that rotation so they can have some of those well-pitched games.

But who closes? And will the other have an issue with it? I mean I would assume Krod, but will Putz be ok with set up duty?

Outside of that, great trade for the Mets. Maybe the best thing for Reed is a change of scenary. He has some big time expectations and fell short.

Now maybe the NYM stay out of the FA OF market and concentate on getting a SP of note.

Putz will set up K-Rod, let there be no doubt in your mind about that.

I'm not so sure. I hope so but this deal came about so quickly who knows. It's not like he really has a choice but hopefully they reached out to him and he's cool with it. I was expecting that to be one of the questions asked of Omar last night during the press conference.

2 more quality SPs and the Mets are the beast of the NL East.

Seattle was my dark horse last year in the west.

They had some horrible seasons by some good pitchers and their bats were just terrible.

Who is their GM and is he still employed?

Gibbs gas station is looking for an attendant on saturday afternoons.

thats a lot to give up for Heilman.

jj wasnt around last year but the year before he was arguably the best closer in the game and i know the sox couldnt put a stick on the ball against him.

the mets should be the chalkers in the east but theyre starters arent that good and their lineup is aged out,i dont see delgado having another huge year, wright is awesome but they need corner outfielders.

i see manny playing out his career in their new stadium.

Been hiding under a rock? Bavasi was fired mid-season last year and they just hired Jack Zduriencik as their new GM this offseason, as well as Don Wakamatsu to manage the team.

As for Manny being a Met...it just won't happen. I think he would be a good fit there, but they don't have any interest it seems.

K-Rod is obviously the closer . And Putz is not impressed being the set up man so I doubt he stays in NY long

He'll still make some good money the next 2 years, so my guess is he'd rather contend and test the market if he does really well.
