He realizes that the Yankees aren't CC's first choice, saying he's a California boy at heart...but he implied that he hopes the money is enough to make him forget about the surf and the sun. No news there.

 

The loss of Mussina is huge, but it was to be expected, and that it changed his game plan. "It's hard to replace 200 innings and 20 wins" is what he said.

 

Swisher is the everyday 1B. However, he hasn't closed the door on Tex, and it's the flexibility of Swisher that was desirable and highly coveted. The shocker of the deal is this...this started in the summer. I had no idea he had targeted Swisher in the summer.

 

No mention of Manny whatsoever.
