He's a great catcher but do the Sox really have room for him. Having locked up Tek for another year plus adding the option onto his contract so possibly having him for the next two years and with them getting Josh Bard back they can't really do much with the guy until September call ups. I say the Sox should keep him around I don't think Tek will be playing too much longer the kid is going to be the future catcher of this team once Tek is gone. He's just gonna have to wait a few more years and he'll get his shot.

He was a PTBNL in a trade for a 43-year old David Wells and he hasn't done all that much to increase that perceived value. He is what he is and if at some point, he does play for the Sox, it'll probably say more about the Sox catching situation and it will about Kottaras

Tek used to catch Wake.

Not since they had an alternative that was better defensively than Scott Hatteberg. :P

Also the year Tek stopped catching Wake his PB totals dropped by 10 a year. hmmmmmm.....

I'm just pointing out the fact that he did indeed catch him at one point in time. That's all.

Anyone can catch Wakefield. The question is can he do it without looking like a three-toed sloth behind the plate?

Not that I think Kottaras has proven something by what I've seen, either way, the first numbers found in the -/-/- field are absolutely worthless because of the 9. It's a waste of time even looking them up.

I'm not sure why you would think that. Catchers get chances, as long as they're not absoltuely abysmal behind the plate. Worst case scenario for Kottaras, even after his rough 2007, was that he'd wind up with little more than a cameo or two as someone's third backstop.

George Kottaras is food for the soul.

One liner FTW.

Forget it, it's a two liner now.

s***, this makes it three lines now.

Joke's gone, now it's a f***ing paragraph, carry on everyone.
