Loathe as I am to admit it' date=' Manny would have been nice in the 8th. Still, I don't think the sox even make the ALCS or mount that game 5 comeback with Manny on the team.[/quote']

I honestly think that in the ALCS having Manny would have made a difference. Bay was a very nice pickup, and played better than we could have thought. It isnt Bay's fault we lost, but Manny would have been nice in this series.

Thanks for the entertainment folks.

A rollercoaster of a series. I thought all the games this series would be closer to how tonight was played - close score, great pitching by both sides, and relying on good defense and base hits.

Couldn't have asked for two better teams to be playing - and these two teams ARE the best in the MLB.

I was on the edge of my seat all game. Boston is so damn scary when there at the plate - and their pitching is just frustrating for an opponent fan.

Thanks to some of you showing that not all Boston fans are douchebags. And to the homers - see ya next year bitches!

Go Rays!

Do you guys remember when Big Papi used to be the most clutch mother f***er on the planet? Now I fear him at the plate in big spot like opposing teams used to.

Can't wait until he's healthy in 2009.

I'll at least say this: If you are who (what) you say you are, congrats to you. You've stuck it out with the team for a long time.

Garza is the ALCS MVP' date=' not Upton. Hm.[/quote']

Looking back at the start of this series, did anyone think it was possible for Lester to lose twice in this series?

No, no... I won't ever try to say I've been with the team for a 'long' time. I HAVE been in Tampa from their beginnings, but I'm originally from New York and the Mets had always been what the family rooted for. I can't even say that I've 'followed' them... so many years of losing just wasn't pulling my interest, time, or money. However, a few years ago I decided to make the effort to focus on baseball and really try and be a fan of my, now, home-team. I've got a 3 yr old son and I kinda wanted him to be able to 'have a team' when he gets older. And I've always liked the Rays. Just never devoted anything to them...

So... I'd say I've only been a "hard core" fan for 2 seasons. I just came in at the right time. So... there's my story... because I'm sure you all cared.

ANYWAY... back to what is REALLY important... a Boston team having a long trip back home, or long stay in Florida for some golf :D

Go Rays :harhar:

Lets get everyone healthy for next season. We played great with what we had. Lets hope Ortiz can get back to being Mr. Clutch and Beckett regain his 07 form. We have holes to fill.

Congrats to the Rays. What an amazing season for them. I'll root them on in the World Series.

Congratulations to the AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPION Tampa Bay Rays!

It's been a storybook season for them. Almost makes u forget about the Devil Rays

Nice job by the Sox making this series close.

Go Rays!

Nice job to the 2008 Yankees for once again showing what a bunch of choking pussies they are.

About two months until winter break, and then before we know it pitchers and catchers. What a wild season. It seems so wierd to think how long ago it was, when I saw them play in Fort Myers this year.

WTF do the Yankees have to do with anything?

What would I really rather want for next season though, the Rays returning to they're losing selves, or the Yankees turning into the old Rays? I think I can get used to a tough Red Sox and Rays rivalry and enjoy the Yankees continue to fall apart.

McCarver and Buck suck' date=' but the ALCS needs to be back on FOX.[/quote']

It seemed weird not having Buck announcing any of our playoff games. Seriously, as bad as McCarver is.... listening to Buck Martinez is worse. I actually like Joe Buck.

TBS did an awful' date=' awful job with the ALCS. Missing some of Game 6, going to the wrong camera, terrible announcing, s***** wardrobe selector.[/quote']

AGREED! Probably one thing each teams' fans can wholeheartedly agree on. Sucked balls.

Beckett injured, Lowell out, Ortiz not himself, Ellsbury sucking, short SP staff forcing Wake to make a start, Tek with nothing left in the tank, Lowrie not hitting, and yet we came up 2 runs short of the World Series. Just fighting back to force game 7 is an accomplishment, bittersweet, but better than losing in game 5. They gave just about everything they had and made it a memorable series.

We'll get 'em next season.

TBS tried to become a big time player with this year's playoffs, but they just proved to everyone how second rate they really are. I'm not sure what the case was for you, but for the final two games HD wasn't working and I was stuck with regular definition (once they got the broadcast back up).

Stick to Braves games boys.

Hahaha. Wow. My girlfriend today asked me if the Sox were playing a playoff game on the same day as the Pats played a regular season game if people would watch the Sox game. I laughed at her thinking that no fan in their right mind, of any team, would pick football over playoff baseball. I guess I was wrong.

I know. This whole weekend, I never even thought once about football. I only thought "Oh yeah, football today, Pats tomorrow" when I woke up today and saw NFL live on ESPN. Guess its officially NFL season now, though. :dunno:

Baseball has been my distraction from how terrible it's been looking for a job. I guess I have to concentrate on that now. :(

How old are you, 14?

Buccaneers > Rays

At least one team didn't rip my heart out tonight. Go Bucs. And NBA regular season is right around the corner, which I'm psyched about.

Still, I'm an emotionally disturbed motherf***er right now.
