The reason Buccholz stunk was cause some moron changed his arm slot. He looked good early in the year for the most part.

 

Lets not forget Manny's 20 mil is comming off. Scillings 8, Wakefields 4. Timlins (?) Variteks (?) With the everyday players pretty much penciled in.. no reason we can't get ourselves a A.J. Burnett or some 4th starter.

DIA, while true that some contracts are off the books, a lot of the younger guys are going to get raises. Still it leaves some room to get guys.

Lin would be skipping AA and AAA, without really dominating any A level. I know you were being sarcastic, but I want to address the whole "get rid of Ellsbury" thing. Outside of making a trade, there's no realy good chance for improvement this offseason. Nothing ready in house, nothing on the market. Not in CF.

 

I think this is a good thing. His performance in the minors and his flashes of brilliance in the majors should be enough to warrant another look next year. I'm frustrated that he's struggling, but there's reason to think he can do more.
