Great Article on Jeter's fielding by Bill James

People forget that clemens was paid 25M over 5 years and was the games highest paid player.

he responded with 40 wins,of course the strike ko'd a lot of that time but come on,he was average to below average with declining stuff

toronto blows the field away with a 32M/4YR deal that nobody went near.

he comes outta the gate at 4-4 or something like as a #3 starter being pat hentgen and juan guzman then he meets brian mcnamee and the rest as we say is history.

Boggs was a f***ing jerkoff, this is the guy who when asked how he avoided a knife he claims""I WILLED MYSELF INVISIBLE""...changing errors to hits costing clemens an era title ,being a selfish prick etc...A real jack off teamate.

he left boston and nobody cared

they cared when clemens left they didnt care when boggs left and boggs was an awesome hitter, amongst the most consistant hitters ever.

They do have a media in town that does hatchet jobs on certain ballplayers but its generally a 2 way street in most cases.

See MikeGreenwell,he walked away with no fanfare either way.

How many knew he called Mo Vaughn a nigger??

he did,my friend catered and still caters the redsox dugout and that did happen

how many knew that troy olearys wife got knocked up by donnie sadler?

nice huh?

Troy left town without any fanfare either

Most of our guys when they finish disappear, the ones that move on and have success have threads started by people like Nate Grey..People that should be ass raped in front of their children wearing a rubber ball in their mouth whiile bent over a coleman pool table with a shaky leg.

Ahhh end of the month quartert and fiscal year and i havent seen a pink slip yet?

25 minutes to go

i may survive the carnage

As far as I remember, I said I'd take him over 2/3 of the SS's in baseball. So that leaves 8-10 SS who are better. Seems like I'm right on point here.

ORS and Kilo were responding to Jacko saying that Jeter is a top 5 offensive SS. For the record, I'd take: Hanley, Reyes, Rollins, Tulo, Hardy, Drew, Peralta, Young and Theriot.
