Ugh. Tough loss in a shootout at the Rangers tonight. Bruins had a 2-0 lead heading to the 3rd period too.

Manny Fernandez should start the next game. Thomas is showing signs of wearing down a bit and losing that legendary hot streak of his. When he isn't on one of his runs Tim Thomas is a pretty average goaltender, so here's a chance for Manny to show what he's got to sort of stabilize the pendulum and keep it from swinging too far the other way before we have to rest TT

I'm amazed at how good Savard turned out to be. He was a lazy malcontent on the Rangers after we drafted him, and then blossomed when we got rid of him.

 

Win some, lose some.

Buffalo is not a pushover team either. They'd be in the playoffs if they started now.

 

The Bruins had every excuse if they wanted to pack it in, right down to and including Manny's 4 goal implosion in the first period. In the last couple years we would have probably written any non-Thomas game in which 4 goals scored in the first as an automatic loss, and we'd have been right. Major kudos to them for not packing it in. And thank you Manny for making an adjustment and keeping the B's in the game.

Oh -- and it looks like Chara's got that howitzer shot back.

This team just keeps winning. I know we have Florida on Friday, but I can't help but look ahead a little bit to the game Saturday at Montreal. Winning at their place would be a HUGE statement.

Don't look past Florida though, they've played us tough over the last few years

 

I must say it's been great to see this team firing on all cylinders. When it was all said and done I was gratified that the team proved that they could take on a high-scoring game.

 

And how about Phil Kessel? 10 goals already and on a roughly 40-goal pace, and he's really starting to scare defenses on the breakaway.

Injury concerns tonight: Wideman, Krejci, Savard, all had to limp off the ice.

 

Savard in particular looks bad. Krejci and Wideman came back, Savard tried but had to leave again. Also he didn't come out for the victory lap and disappeared in the third quarter. Ward also decided to take issue with whatever hurt him (off camera) and he was favoring his knee. Shades of Cam Neely? God I hope not.

We're seeing what Tim Thomas can do with regular rest and it's exciting.

I mean, seriously, not only did Lucic already bloody his knuckles just last night, and was probably under orders not to fight anyway but seriously... it's Laraque.
