I hate him. The guy was running around like he's a bad ass because he knew Looch wasn't there to pound his face in.

lol. ok.

He was second in the league in hits last year yet he only acted like a bad ass last night because "Looch" wasn't playing...

That's not true. I've seen him play enough to know he plays a physical style all the time...he's not a great fighter but he'll go if need be. Lucic being there would not have changed anything.

I'm a big Lucic fan...but his presence simply means he woulda played his game and Komisarek would of played his game...as they do every time the teams play one another. Sure Lucic would have drilled Komi, nothing new...but to say that Komisarek wouldn't have been as physical as he usually is is just incorrect.

He was blatantly going after players his size's knees and then showing up smaller players like Savard or Krejci. Guy's just a plain ole bag o' douche. I'll give him credit, he's a solid defenseman, but it's the way he plays after the whistle and the way he hits to injure that he's gunna need to answer the bell for if he continues.

Agreed, and it's not like we didn't have a better fighter in Thornton to challenge him anyway

He "showed up" Krejci cause he shot the puck on Halak after the offside whistle, that's a no-no in the hockey code, Komisarek was just standing up for his goalie like a good leader does.

And he never hits to injure, I would know, I watch every Habs game. A hip check is a legal hit.

I haven't come away from any Habs game thinking Komisarek was cheap. I'll watch more closely but my impression is that he's fairly hard-nosed and a little bit of an antagonizer too. He likes to chirp, he likes to bump after the whistle and such...but I don't recall hiom being dirty. Don't like him, but that's a different story.

What's the deal with the Capitals??

They're pretty fkn good.

Ovechkin is possibly the best offensive player in the game, plus he's not afraid to be physical...he's like Iginla when he first came into the league, only a little more explosive. Semin is a stud. And they have one of the best offensive-minded D-men in Green.

But I think the real reason for their success is similar to the B's...they've developed some depth and they have guys buying into their system.

The key for them, IMO, will not only be whether that depth holds up but even more important how their goaltending holds up.

Now yesterday looked like the B's of the Thornton days...grasping defeat from the jaws of victory. Wheeler had a great look at an open net in the closing moments, he's got to bury that shot. All in all, they just got outworked and despite being more talented than St. Louis, the Blues hard work paid off.

Brad Boyes...big deal, could have been anyone, doesn't fkn matter, and maybe this helps him forget about his -23 +/- rating for the season.

Big game going on tonight. The Caps are up 2-1 at the 1st intermission.

Heck, big 5 game stretch coming up against the East's best. Washington, New Jersey, New York, @ Montreal, @ Philly. It'd be nice to at least take 3 of 5 here.

Great win, as much as I hate Ovechkin when he plays us, you have to respect the immense talent he has, such speed and shooting ability, jeesus christ. Very solid returns from Looch, Bergy n Ference, who oddly enough sported the A on his sweater. All played very well and Bergy had a sick assist to Savvy to tie it back up.

Kind of a BS goal in OT, but after the hook you almost knew we were scorin' on that PP.

If we get one more solid forward, it's gunna be a tough time knocking us out of the playoffs.

Tkachuk-Savard-Kessel

Wheeler-Krejci-Ryder

Lucic-Bergeron-Kobasew

Axelsson-Yelle-Thornton

Chara-Wideman

Ward-Stuart

Hnidy-Hunwick

Thomas/Fernandez

That looks like a deep playoff run to me (knocks on wood)

Agree, I also though that play by Kostopoulos after that whistle was pretty dirty too. I swear to god I thought Montreal was going come out of that with a PP, thank god the refs got it right there, because they had an atrocious game. It seems like every time we're in Montreal, every borderline call goes their way...
