While it's true that he's been in the NL, his numbers still are decent. ERA in the low 4's, WHIP around 1.20, pretty consistent since 2003.

I was under that impression myself with Maddux. I was thinking going to LA he'd play better for a contending team, but apparently that isn't the case. Atleast not tonight.

True, but it's not like he's a disaster. He's not what he once was, but he's a respectable pitcher. I used baseball-reference's "neutralize stats" feature, it gave a 4.30/1.27 in 2007, and a 4.38/1.27 in 2008, the two years in SD.
