Wakefield is not bad. Crisp isin't doing well' date=' but it's not like he is a starter. Casey is a f***ing backup. a backup hitting like 340. seriously wtf. Cora, eh, he's not supposed to be derek jeter for f***s sake. Okajima has been just fine, and one of the only reliable people the past 2 years. Bay is doing real well.[/quote']

I just told you bashing Okajima and Bay was a mistake. Wakefield has been blowing big games forever. Crisp starts WAY to much. Cora and Casey your right but still there are better backups in our system then them. And Jeter is a bitchy **** who holds a ego grudge against Arod for a very minor comment. Glad Jeters not on our team.

Who do I bash? Wakefield' date=' Crisp, Casey, Bay (very wrong about) Cora and Okajima. Besides Bay and Okajima the other guys are no loss to our favorite teams roster.[/quote']

Wait a minute, I thought contributing to a championship was all that mattered. They don't win the WS without Okajima last year. Period.

Now try and reconcile this with your other points.

Sure it does. I live in the greatest city in the world. I can go get a beer I can go to the beach I can go to Fenway, the Garden Foxboro. Can't say that about New Orleans.

I admitted I was just fustrated with him. Everyone makes mistakes. You bashed Lowell the other day calling him the worst player on the team.

Oh so it's okay for you to bash and be frustrated... but not us?

Right now he is. I never said it would last forever, but I want him off the field while he sucks. You want guys with talent but are struggling off the team. See the difference, f***o?

Great? There was guys on base every inning. Wakefield has been a handycap to this team for 5 years now.

Game 5, 2004 alcs

And then came Francona's piece de resistance: handing the ball to Wakefield.

The knuckleballer, pitching to Varitek and not to his usual receiver, Doug Mirabelli, tossed three frames of one-hit, shutout ball, striking out four and earning one huge win.

And even when Varitek's lack of experience dealing with the floater could have hurt the Sox -- three passed balls in the 13th led to runners on first and third -- Wakefield took care of business.

Wakefield struck out Sierra to escape that jam before pitching a 1-2-3 14th to end the game, some five hours and 49 minutes after it had started.

"He was throwing some hard ones, about 70 miles an hour, that made it tough on me," Varitek said. "But he really picked me up."

"I just tried basically to just keep us in the game as long as possible," Wakefield added. "I didn't know how many innings I would be able to go. After (my) second inning, they asked me how I felt and I said, 'I'll give you what I've got.'"

For Francona and the Sox, that was just fine.

"First of all, I was very pleased for our ballclub," Francona said, summing up the effort. "We used, basically, everybody. To get shutout innings out of your bullpen for that length of time, it was an unbelievable performance, with Wakefield right in the middle of it."

No? Off the field means not playing. Wakefield is off the field and the team uis 20 over 500 what a coincidence.

You want to call me a bandwagon fan when all you care about is the postseason?

Wonderful, the pitcher record argument again. It's like an endless loop of stupidity. Apparently you forgot that you couldn't maintain your point when shown how little control pitchers have over their records. Do we need to do it again? Or are you just ignoring everything that shows the error in your thinking?

Dood good 1 !

He always pitches good enough to lose. Look at Tom Glavine with the Muts. My cousin is a Met fan like no other and he would do nothing but critcize Glavine. I said guy is a future HOF. His response " he pitches well enough to lose" I agree with that 100% it's you vs the other pitcher win that battle do your job as Belichick would say.
