Cool. Per NESN' date=' Jed has the most shortstop RBI since the break.[/quote']

Even more than oh so awesome Derek Jeter? No way!

you can make a very convincing argument for Youk as MVP

The Sox have a team MVP award every season, no?

If not league MVP, at least he should be the Sox MVP so far this season. Ortiz obviously has been inconsistent and even Lester's pitching hasn't contributed as many wins, probably, as Youk.

Dustin Pedroia AL MVP... Maybe?

Awh who we kidding? The biased will prevail and Alex Rodriguez, good or not, will get it again.

I vaguely recall some guy named Julio who used to play shortstop for this team...ummm...Lugo, I think it was. Whatever happened to him?

Ah, who cares. Go Lowrie!

there is absolutely no way Lugo comes back as the starting shortstop, no way in hell

I'm thinking Quentin, Hamilton, or Kinsler.

Kinsler and Quentin have the stats, but Hamilton has the RBIs and the feel-good story...ultimately I think Quentin playing for a contender will give him the edge.

I wouldn't count out Pedroia. But you are right about Quentin. If Chicago even makes the playoffs, I think Quentin would be the lock. But if not, I think Hamilton or Pedroia. Kinsler as the runner up.

I agree there are more suitable candidates to win it, but I think Youk should be in the conversation

Casey blows. Hinske would have been better.

Hinske was aweful last year - do you know they have fountain of youth in Tampa?

I don't think Bostonownsyou followed the Red Sox last year. :dunno:

You don't know Tito I am afraid.

My mvp guess would be Hamilton. MLB gave Giambi comeback player of the year... what did he come back from? cheating? They favor drug attics Hamiltons one of them.

Hamilton has a drug attic?
Player|Year|AVG|OBP|SLG|OPS

Kevin Youkilis|2008|.316|.384|.564|.948

Carlos Quentin|2007|.284|.382|.565|.947

Josh Hamilton|2008|.304|.369|.555|.924

Ian Kinsler|2008|.320|.377|.513|.890
You could make a very convincing case for Youkilis, especially if you consider defense.
