Man, what a disgusting game. I was in a poker room with the game on in the background and had more shocks and emotions over the damned Sox game than poker game! :lol: Up 10-0 in the first was insane, talking about records, etc. Then before I knew it, I look up and its a 2 run game, then tied, then were behind. Ugly, but at least we got the win.

Also, am I the only one who wants Masterson to be our 5th starter? Let Bird pitch for Wake and if he does well, then we could move him to the 5 spot when wake gets back and put Masterson back in the pen. I just can't stand our 5 spot/fill in spots.

Zink had went 5 innings against minor league teams on 3 days rest with success. Today he was fine through 4 (2 ER) against the AL's best hitting team in the AL's best hitting ball park. Ran out of gas in the 5th.

We should not read too much into any one game. Zink gave up 8 runs in 4 1/3 IP while the BP gave up 9 runs in 4 2/3 IP, and 36 runs were scored by both teams. Must have been something in the air.

So who is your pick for MVP of the game:

Dustin Pedroia, who went 5-for-6, scored five times, hit the key two out RBI double to tie the game in the 8th and then came around to score the go-ahead run on the Youkilis HR;

or

Kevin Youkilis, who went "only" 2-for-5 with a walk, but the 2 hits were a 5th inning 2 run HR and the big 8th inning go ahead 3 run HR (also had the accomplishment of striking out twice in the ONE inning)

or

David Ortiz, who homered twice in the first, doubled in the sixth, walked twice, scored four times and drove in six.

It's really a tough call.

Between the three: 10-for-15, two doubles, 4 HR, 11 runs scored and 13 driven in.

This was Feldman's first career start vs Boston... and hopefully not his last! Great game by the offense not so much by the pitching. Zink looked good through 4 innings. The 5th inning he just plain imploded. Youkilis is on pace to def reach 100 RBIs, 30 HRs is possible as well. A free agent at end of 2010 season, at least 2009 offseason they need to sit down with him about contract extension. Ortiz is back ;) Id like to see the back of the bullpen be Masterson/Okajima/Papelbon. Delcarmen can do middle relief.

that game end yet??...wtf...

2 10 run leads blown,36 runs,400 pitches, 1/2 gallon of maalox and a fistfull of xanax later i can safely say this was a great game not to lose but not really a great game to win.

ive seen losses like this end seasons(think 1987 when clem blew a similar lead in the bronx) in june.

this texas team is exciting but id be locked down in bridgewater if i had to see these prix 19 times a year..great job by youk inspite of his 2 errors,great job by duddy p,ortiz was dead balls on the money last night with his 3hrs(i dont care what the box score says) and that tata by youk in the 8th was still on the rise as it hit the sports authority sign...

Mike Lowell is likely headed to the DL. We'll be seeing Youkilis at 3rd, Casey getting some more ABs at 1st base. Also on a serperate site with Peter Gammons, he sees Lugo becoming a super utility guy that he was for the Rays (ability to play 2nd, 3rd, ss and OF). That I wouldnt mind at all
