12 home 16 away in August. The Yankees have the same home-away split in August. The Rays have 15 home 13 away.

The Sox only have three more road series against good teams - CHI, NYY, and TB.

The rest are against Texas, and some sub-.500 teams (Sea, KC, Bal, Tor).

There is the opportunity for ground to be made up.

Their pitching sucks, though. I'll take our chances.

My prediction: Sox win 6-3' date=' Lester goes 7 giving up 2ER, bullpen gives up one in the 8th. Home runs by two of the following at least: Manny, Lowell, Youk, Drew. [b']As well as one home run from an unlikely source.[/b] After the game, angry Mariners fans burn Safeco to the ground, then burn Raul Ibanez to the ground.

Man, was I ever right.

Nice road game, especially in SAFECO Field. The Sox lead with 11 shutouts. Jon Lester, who I believe has been this year's ace, has been part of 6 of the shutouts. Good to see the kid Lowrie get a big hit in there. DITTO for Varitek

Considering Lester, Dice-K, Wakefield and to a lesser extent, Beckett have been pitching the way they have for most of the year, it's a damn shame we have the bullpen we do. This is really the best rotation we've had in a long time
