Ok, I have an interesting idea. Just hear me out. It will fix the hole "running out of players in extra innings" thing, as well as the "deserving players missing out b/c all the teams had to be represented" thing and the "players not getting to play b/c the manager is saving them in case there's extra innings" thing. We do the voting just like we do it now, except without the "every team" limitation. Whoever the most deserving players are get in. Then, the manager chooses 6 players (3 pitchers, 3 position players; this part can change), who can only play in extra innings. If there's team's that didn't get any players named to the original roster, he has to choose a player from those teams (so everyone is getting represented). And he won't be worried about saving players for extra innings. Thoughts?

I'd rather re-use the starting players

In trying to placate the yankee fans, Francona hamstrung himself. He didn't want the game to end without Mo getting into the game, so he took out KRod after one out in the 9th inning. If he had let KRod pitch a full inning or 1 2/3, he wouldn't be as strapped as he is now for pitchers.

I thought of that, but the problem isn't so much the position players b/c they play everyday. But with pitchers, you use them all early for an inning. I don't know if you could recycle them or not. How much damage would that do to your arm, throwing an inning, resting a few hours, then throwing another inning?
