I overreacted on Masterson but he's had 9 starts above High A ball and he's pitching in the best division in baseball.

 

Smith is AAAA but Lopez is effective when used well.

Well, Lopez was on the team last year, Smith = Snyder, and Masterson ~ Buchholz.

 

Explain how it isn't.

They are just not the three guys that I would have wanted to see pitch in the first game of a series against the first place team when they have the ace going. To me Lopez has always been a garbage time pitcher. Chris Smith is a green minor leaguer at best, and Masterson was a kid that was up for a spot start and now has a rotation spot.
