Tito must be reading my posts, so just to make me wrong, he gave Timlin the suck sign. Unfortunately, Timlin thinks every sign is the suck sign.

Timlin = Eric Gagne but older.

Unfair. Eric Gagne has talent but chokes in save situations. Mike Timlin pitches at a reliable Single-A level in any situation, regardless of the inherent stress.

See? Timlin just walked Burrell--it was as if he were the leadoff hitter, not just another batter in a blowout game. ;)

Oh NOW Tito wants to pull Timlin out.

Yes NOW after four runs have scored blowing a good chance to really for a possible 5-4 win. Yes, Tito, you are a f***ing genius for putting Timlin in on a game we're down by only two runs.

I've been a Timlin apologist for awhile but i think he's done

I was there about a week ago. He's done, gone, toast, finished, out, no more, left the building, gone with the wind.

You get the point. I'd say the FO better find a deal for him, maybe a prospect or two? Maybe 10 bats? Or just out right release him and cut the losses.

if anything, its a sad decline considering what he's meant for the organization for many years now, being an integral part of two championships and a calming, veteran influence in the bullpen. the man still deserves respect

Agreed. Its tough watching him struggle so much.

Agreed. Especially last year he was a very good pitcher, very good for relief and set up. And I don't hate him, never could. I just think it's his time to finish before he embarasses himself anymore.

Offer him an instructional position to finish out the year under his current contract if you want to be respectful. DO NOT continue to waste a roster space on a guy who is consistently awful in order to respect him when there are alternatives who are a safe bet to do better.

I find myself wondering if the game thread has frozen...

Base hit Moss...two-out double! :D

And that's it.

Ballgame.

I blame the loss mostly on Timlin for s***ing a close trail.

Meh...we faced a good starting pitcher backed up by excellent relief--we had to be better.

I'd've liked Timlin to be better, but I didn't and don't fault Tito for using him. In hindsight, the four runs by Colon were enough to seal the loss.

Hey, who's starting tomorrow's game thread? We need some fresh mojo...

I'll take it, I seem to have a good enough game thread record to give us a win.
