How great does making Joba a starter look now' date=' after all this? The YES crew was just discussing this and I thought it was a great point. If Joba had not been stretched out by this point, the Yanks would be in big trouble. They'd have to deal with two big holes in the rotation as opposed to just one.[/quote']

And if they had traded to get Santana, they would have none.

Cashman gets a free pass. He should have had something on the side in case of an injury, or [perish the thought] his young pitchers aren't Cy Young winners.

The Yankees will be fine. I'm not worried about them, in fact, even with the injury, I see the Yankees catching the Sox by the end of July or mid-August.

Guardians are closer to 1st than the Yanks are' date=' why would they deal anyone in their rotation?[/quote']

Well they are considering dealing Sabathia (or so it is believed), and isn't Byrd also in a contract year?

all of a sudden running the bases is too much to ask for ny pitchers so hank calls out the 160 year old rule...

and some think this is rational.

hank has a drinking problem

if your father was george you should have a drinking problem and if you combine the face, the bloat and the lack of intellect its obvious he is perfect for his place atop the yankee baseball world.

here's the difference between George and Hank though...

in 2004, when the Sox won game 7 of the ALCS at Yankee Stadium, the Sox fans in attendance refused to leave. When Yankee brass began to get upset that they weren't leaving, they asked George when to turn out the lights and George said let them stay as long as they like, they deserve it.

I just don't see Hank doing that...

that was 2004 george and he shocked the s*** out of us.

in 1978 he wouldve had the ny national guard pull an attica on them

as far as hank goes,he would need to be told what happened before he reacted

but George always had a respect for the tradition of baseball and the historical significance of events his team was a part of, whether on the winning side or the losing side. Hank is just a moron who basically says "you think my dad was unreasonable and spoke without thinking? wait until you get a load of me"

i dunno bosox

the george i know got bounced from baseball twice for ignoring the rules and as far as im concerned he considers himself above it all.

he has mellowed a bit since the old days but he is still a rotten f*** to the core

Who claimed that what he said was rational? My statement about his drinking problem was on a different note. I just thought that was funny. I'm not using it to rationalize the dumbass things he says.
