Dude, first, instead of just linking an article, maybe add something to the conversation. We all have yahoo, and secondly, Curts blog is on the internet, and I think Curt was pretty non-judgemental of Kobe, just said he was surprised to see how basketball players play their game. I don't have the article up right now, but I remember him saying something to the effect of "Hey he puts up 30 a game, can't argue with that."

C'mon, man. Calling out Curt Schilling is supposed to be easy, I think you may have failed at it if thats what you were trying to do. But since you said nothing, I guess I don't really know.

As the Sports Guy said' date='[/quote']

I was going to mention this. I think it's awesome how Boston players get involved in the other major sports.

Would it be funnier to see Schilling guard Kobe 1 on 1 or to see Kobe stand in against Schilling? :dunno:

I can see Kobe tea baggin ol Curt on the way to the rim, but the Curt would sit him on hir rear end with a fastball upstairs, then we can watch Kobe throw his back out trying to hit a splitter:D

Is there another city out there more like a big college campus? I've never seen sports teams root for each other like here. I think it's awesome. Love him or hate him (both for me) I also think it is pretty sweet that Schill blogs about his experience as an athlete and as an idiot. Its great.

Holy s*** are you actually defending for me?

Never thought I'd see the day.

Anyway, he is right, I really didn't have much more to say other than Schilling was running his mouth again. Now if you wan't, I'll elaborate.

I think he should be more concerned about his arm and getting back into the rotation instead of Kobe and Pals.

Why can't he do both?

He posted that on HIS website. If you don't like it, don't read it.

No, you obviously don't get it, Kilo. He's not allowed to have an opinion about his observation while attending a basketball game. That is valuable time he could have been focussing his mental power on making his shoulder better. And besides, what the heck is he doing at a basketball game in the first place? People who are recovering from injury should spend every waking moment (I grudingly admit they must be allowed to sleep - the body does need it afterall) either in rehab or deep meditation to heal. I think that is what he did in '04 to come back so quickly after getting hurt in Anaheim. Then, after they won it, he got all complacent and took the whole offseason and half of '05 to recover from the surgery. What a slacker. It's all about the focus, baby.

Not really.

Anyone can clearly see what your opinion is, however misguided it may be. Apparently, Ksushi needs a research paper backed with citations and quotes in order to understand what you're talking about.

Then again, he'd still have problems understanding it.

Definately funnier to see Kobe stand in against Schilling. The only thing that bothers me about this situation is (and I realize what I am about to assume might not be fair to assume but here goes)

What would Curt do if the roles were reversed? He would LOSE IT. Not just disapprove, not calmly say, I wish he hadn't blogged about it. He would go nuts and call Kobe out big time if Kobe wrote about him after sitting near the sox dugout.

Just being fair, I didn't have a big problem with it overall.

Kobe. This one stunned me a little bit. Who doesn’t know Kobe Bryant right? I only know what I have heard, starting awhile back with the entire Shaq debacle. I don’t really have an opinion one way or the other on or about him other than to know that people feel he might be one of the 4-5 greatest players to ever lace it up. What I do know is what I got to see up close and hear, was unexpected. From the first tip until about 4 minutes left in the game I saw and heard this guy bitch at his teammates. Every TO he came to the bench pissed, and a few of them he went to other guys and yelled about something they weren’t doing, or something they did wrong. No dialog about “hey let’s go, let’s get after it” or whatever. He spent the better part of 3.5 quarters pissed off and ranting at the non-execution or lack of, of his team. Then when they made what almost was a historic run in the 4th, during a TO, he got down on the floor and basically said ‘Let’s f’ing go, right now, right here” or something to that affect. I am not making this observation in a good or bad way, I have no idea how the guys in the NBA play or do things like this, but I thought it was a fascinating bit of insight for me to watch someone in another sport who is in the position of a team leader and how he interacted with his team and teammates. Watching the other 11 guys, every time out it was high fives and “Hey nice work, let’s get after it” or something to that affect. He walked off the floor, obligatory skin contact on the high five, and sat on the bench stone faced or pissed off, the whole game. Just weird to see another sport and how it all works. I would assume that’s his style and how he plays and what works for him because when I saw the leader board for scoring in the post season his name sat up top at 31+ a game, can’t argue with that. But as a fan I was watching the whole thing, Kobe, his teammates and then the after effects of conversations. He’d yell at someone, make a point, or send a message, turn and walk away, and more than once the person on the other end would roll eyes or give a ‘whatever dude’ look.

Let me reiterate that this is from a complete basketball newbie, so for all I know this could be exactly how these guys play this game and interact with each other.

The contrast though, for me anyway, was watching KG and Allen, Pierce, as the game went on. I was literally ON the Laker bench so I could only watch the celts on the floor, and it was just different. it was all about who has whom, who goes where, what’s up next. That could have been a direct result of the officiating and flow of the game though, more than anything.

It was just amazing to watch a game where the Lakers came out, completely set the tempo in the first few minutes and TOTALLY dominated the final four minutes, and in between the Celtics completely dominated them.

Why don't we look at what he actually said. Doesn't seem to be too damning, IMO. He threw in disclaimer after disclaimer.
