Yanks targeting Fuentes, Marte

Cashman is losing whatever favor he had in my eyes as this drags on. Whether or not Joba makes it in the rotation does not underscore the Yankees need in the pen, especially a lefty. Fuentes would be an ideal fit, giving the Yankees with the best pen in the game with a setup of Rivera-Chamberlain-Fuentes or an extremely reliable 8th inning guy in Fuentes.

 

Is this guy simply asleep at the wheel as a GM?

Are you serious bro? Put your drink down; oir are you smoking crack? Why would we give upon Hughes for Marte? Not that I dontlike the idea of having Marte, which is something I've pulled for for quite a while. but that would be giving up wayyy too much. Either Fuentes or Marte would suffice for me, and I assure you it won't take that much. I'm dumbfounded by that post.

I could see the pirates going after some of the younger kids in our system for Marte. I dont see any of the higher end guys moving over in the trade simply because the higher end guys might have a role this season.

If a deal is made with the Pirates, I would love for Cash to explore the possibility of including Betemit in the deal for Mientkiewicz. Pittsburgh had interest in Betemit in the spring, although I dont know where that stands now, and we could use a slick-fielder on our bench. Not only that, Mientkiewicz has played a lot of third base this year in Pittsburgh, which he hasn't done previously. So with history at first, obviously, limited experience at second and in the outfield, and his role at third this year with the Pirates, he provides probably just as much versatility as Betemit. Plus, he did want to come back to the Yankees in the offseason. Just pure speculation on my part, but that would be pretty awesome if we could pull off a deal for Marte AND Mientkiewicz.

I went to the game tonight but only saw Joba throw 3 pitches. We were running late (wasnt gonna go but ended up being able to) and I was movinggggggggggggg it down to the Stadium. Got off the Deegan at 7:02, but there was no parking ANYWHERE!! Had to search for a spot before finally parking on the street up on 149th and trouped it. Good game nonetheless though. Too bad we have a s***** pen. But anytime I get to see DOc Halladay pitch is fun. Probably one of my favorite pitchers in the game, even if he does his damage for a division rival.
