Duchscherer looks great out there right now. 22 pitches through two innings. I like Tito giving Manny the day off, hopefully he can clear his head and stop worrying about #500.

 

Nick Cafardo: OAKLAND - OK, Julio Lugo has 11 errors, but he can't be going this bad can he?

 

Manny Ramirez is currently taking ground balls at shortstop. Manny's got the night off, so I guess he's just out there having some fun. He did it in Baltimore last week as well. So far he's fielded every ball cleanly.

Haha sounds good to me. Beckett is doing his job keeping the team in the game, but we really need to f***ing make something happen out there with the bats, and Duchscherer is only at 51 pitches through 4. It doesn't help that this umpire has a huge f***ing strike zone either....

Why am I so good? At least the no hit bid is gone, but we gotta get some runs. Beckett doesn't deserve the loss in this game at all, it is the putrid offense that is responsible.

I'm not watching the game, just GameCast. I'm noting (according to the pitch info there) that the strike zone is a little bigger than usual, but not absurdly so, and it seems like Beckett and Duchscherer are getting the same treatment. So... is Duchscherer really that good tonight, or what? Are we hitting balls hard (as when Wang shut us down) or are we looking like total dung at the plate?

No we are not hitting balls hard, only Papi's hit was hard from what I can remember. This guy is shutting us down and we are popping up tons of balls. Not looking good tonight imo.
