Daisuke is taking a beating this inning. That what happens I guess when you throw 100 pitches through 5 innings.

 

Someone said he was Nomo v2.0, but I think he has much better stuff than Nomo, and at times, he makes me happy by living on the corners. He doesn't usually miss in the heart of the plate and I really like that, he just makes a habit of missing every where else sometimes. There is definitely more hope for him to put it all together, but arghzhzz.

Today Matsuzaka was squeezed a little on the top and bottom but he got a couple of calls outside--he's been cheated by less than half a run, I'd reckon quickly, and there's no statistically significant sign of bias in the numbers, just error...but Bannister got more called strikes on the edges than Matsuzaka got, for a shift in his favor, the reverse of how Matsuzaka was called.

 

I've yet to see a game where Matsuzaka got the advantage in the ball strike calls, but it's better than the limited look I got last year, when it seemed that Matsuzaka was getting a net 10-15 pitches called wrong against him each game.
