I think Frank Thomas is a lock, he put up amazing numbers in a steroid era, and his name has never been mentioned. Thome is still putting up good numbers, and will likely build his HOF resume and has a chance also, especially if he gets 2000 hiits this season. They compare significantly with Reggie, and Reggie is a HOF.

What do you guys think?

I would vote for both of them. I'm firm when it comes to not relying on statistical analysis for every little thing in this game, and HOF consideration is one. That being siad, they both have numbers for serious consideration, but some stat geeks might say that it's not enough to push them over. I am not one of them, I would elect both of them. Which ballot they get in on is a different story.

This pretty much sums up my feelings, though I wouldn't vote for Thome now. I think he needs a few more seasons.

Yes for both' date=' rather easily. Although if I had to pick one it'd be Thomas.[/quote']

Im not sure about Thome right now......if he has a good year this year, and an average to good year next year.....I think hes in.

He's got 500 homers. Like it or not that pretty much guarantees entrance.

Yeah, I guess your right. Only guys with 500+ homers not in the hall are Palmeiro, Mcgwire, Bonds and Sosa, assuming A-Rod and Griffey go in.

And we all know why they aren't in. At least so far.

Because with the exception of McGwire none of them have reached the 5 year waiting period?
