Enough for me to know he's a Yankee fan. It's the same as how I "know" you, or others on this board are Red Sox fans. Sure, a lot of people here weren't Sox fans pre-'04, but some you can just tell have lived and died with the team for year. Go rent 61* and watch the special features and Crystal will amaze you, as he did me. Many "fans" apparently like these side shows. I don't like 'em and I certainly don't need 'em to maintain my interest in baseball, or any other sport, for that matter. It's a distraction, its self-serving of the celebrity and its gimmicky on the part of the team.

 

Personally, if it were me? I'd say hey Sox, let me go out in the outfield and shag fly balls during BP...no uniform necessary, no fanfare required...just let me go out and play for a while, incognito, and maybe take some BP too. That'd be fun.

meaning their obligations to their profession varies at all hours of the day and all days of the week (ie. charity events, filming, travelling, promotional appearances, etc.) whereas for a lot of us, we'll miss a game to go to dinner or a movie with a girlfriend or wife

 

for example, if Billy Cystal is filming a movie for 3 months in Los Angeles, it would make sense that he wouldn't travel to New York to take in the Royals

I find it extraordinarily hard to believe you're at 81 games a year. What gives you a sponsor's exemption to the June/July games, but doesn't give the same to celebrities?
