I must have really struck a nerve...about something.

I'd like to know what I did to piss you off so much. I despise trolling but it's rather amusing.

You call me the loser, and yet every other word out of your mouth is profanity. It's clear you can't respond with any sort of intelligence so you drop to the lowest common denominator.

I'd really like to know where I'm contradicting myself as well. Wonder if you just pulled that out of nowhere.

Derek Jeter: Holy smokes, Arod! There's a basebrawl in St. Petersburg. It looks like Shelley Duncan is about to get taken out by the evil Gomes.

Arod: DJ! To the Arod-mobile! Let's go!

In the Arod-mobile..they'd get there in 20 seconds.

More fuel for the fire..

Duncan said Friday that no teammates have suggested he change the way he plays. Veterans Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera and Jason Giambi all said they like Duncan's aggressive style of play and would urge him not to change anything.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said he had seen replays of Duncan's spikes-up slide into second baseman Akinori Iwamura, and had no problem with the play. He said he likes the way Duncan plays: "I'd take 25 Shelley Duncans."

Teammates have said they appreciate the way Duncan plays, and general manager Brian Cashman said, "I'd take 25 Shelley Duncans." Mariano Rivera said, "Knowing him, I'd say, yes, he plays the game the right way. He's consistent - he always plays the game hard."

And Derek Jeter said, "If I were Shelley, I wouldn't change the way I play the game. There's no reason to change the way he plays the game."

Jorge Posada said things look a little different coming from Duncan, given his size. In addition to being bigger than most players, Duncan runs with a kind of helter-skelter abandon.

Some have suggested that Duncan needs to tone things down, if for no other reason than that people might get the wrong idea about his intentions. But Posada shrugged off the idea that he or another veteran might want to tell him to change his ways, saying: "For what?"

Oh, crap. When Jetesey and Payrod made that Duncan Munchkin comment the other day I guess they weren't talking about donuts. It must have been the "creme filled" part that threw me off.

Not sure if this has been discussed already, but was there a reaction among Yankee fans when ARod did NOT attempt to bull over the TB catcher the last time they played?

So he's [Girardi] a hypocrite. Fantastic.
No, Kilo. He never called the Elliot play dirty. He said it was unnecessary.

I've been known to enjoy it from time to time. You're really becoming a part of the "Die Hard Yankee" fan club. Good for you!

Because it was unnecessary. Imagine he bowls into the catcher and separates his shoulder and is out for 6 weeks.

Thanks, but you didn't answer my question. While I agree with you, I asked WAS there any reaction among Yankee fans?

Since some Yankee fans expressed a desire that their team fight fire with fire, I wondered if anyone was upset with ARod pulling up.

At any rate, that would be just terrible if ARod was out for 6 weeks...I'd be quite upset.

No one cared. The media made this out to be worse than we felt.

We lost a backup minor league catcher for 10 weeks. It was a non-story in New York.

Thanks for the clarification.

As for your lost catcher...that's unfortunate. I suppose we may see catchers not block the plate in meaningless spring training games in the future...quite possibly at the request of their manager.

Ensberg look solid. He says he has finally found a stance he likes. Supposedly he had 9 different stances that he'd switch back and forth between in an AB. Kinda weird. If we can somehow get him back to his 05 form, we'd have one hell of an offensive player on our hands. If not, he's a low risk gamble.

What pisses me off is that people think Posada can catch.[/Quote]

My brother's quote. Sad thing is...he's right. Watch how he NEVER frames a pitch. As much as I like Posada, what the Yankees gain with Molina behind the plate against what they lose with Molina at the plate is pretty much a wash. Watch how Molina frames pitches, and gets called strikes. Then watch Posada. It's disgraceful. The average Yankee fan doesn't see it, but Posada is outright terrible behind the plate.

I wouldn't say terrible. He's not great, or above average for that matter by any stretch of the imagination, but he's not terrible. I'd still take him over probably like 25 other catchers in the game.

Posada is much better than Molina all around. Posada has a solid arm and is a damn good hitter. His patience and power slides in nice with this lineup. Having Molina in the lineup would create a black hole that right now, this lineup doesnt have. I do admit, Molina is a much better defensive catcher. He is better at blocking balls, I think he calls the game better and he frames pitches better. But that is all you really need out of your backup. If your backup was a great hitter, he'd be starting. You need a sound defensive player on the bench so the managing part of the game is cared for. And Molina is that in spades.

You know, I'm starting to think that the one extra hit a game that Posada brings is far outweighed by the framing of pitches and calling of games. With the Yankees lineup, they would be far better off if Molina was the full time catcher.

I like Posada, but if we have to go through another season of him taking a pitch on the corner and tossing his glove 5 inches outside after he catches it, we'd be better off with me behind the plate. He is outright TERRIBLE behind the plate.

I wish Girardi would think the same way...I'd love to see Molina back there 19 times a year against the Sox.
