80 was surreal but the jets 69 win was the biggest most meaningful upset ever.

joe namath is still considered one of the all time greats

has enyone seen his career #s?

theyre not that good

and considering he never came close again and made millions on that 1 game id say its the biggest upset ever...they scored 1 td that day,his back ran for over 100+ and his d created multiple turnovrers againt the 17point favored 13-1 colts

it was the day football became americas new pasttime and that guys bold prediction made him a house hold name 20 years after he was any good...

check his #s

i think he was a career 52pct passer,he did break 4000 in that year but never got that close after the leagues merged and he was so often injured he became a joke

of course 38 yrs later and a tv audience of 500M world wide didnt see that game

this game is the event and in sheer magnirude this will be the biggest upset in many peoples mids despite the pats beating the rams as a bigger dog a couple yrs back

nova beating gtown in 85 was unreal

the 90 reds blowing away the a's 4 straight was huge

03 marlins?

the 83 win cards team from 06?

how about the app state michigan game this year?

i suspect that due to the strange year in ncaa football that will be a forgotten event but in front of 110k in the big house it dont get any bigger than that...

bc beat #1 texas in newton back in 76? maybe 75 when texas was #1 and bc was still playing umass and holy cross before the big east was born

that was the biggest upset i saw with my own eyes as texas kicker, russel erkslaben(SP) was the best kicker on earth and would hit em from 60 in warmups,he shanked a 38yd kick to end the game...they had 4 all americans including earl campbell ray clayborn and a couple on the d side...the were enormous to a 5th grader as they walked out of the tunnel

I remember looking at his numbers a little while ago and being very surprised. More interceptions than touchdowns in his career. You're right, that one game makes him a household name and a legend. While true, I don't think that is what makes Super Bowl 3 an upset, even though it was.
