Crisp and Drew are killing this lineup. It's time for Ellsbury in center to hit leadoff, Pedroia is struggling at leadoff and needs to move down. It's also time to sit Drew. JD is not showing any signs of turning it around and seems to put lazy swings on pitches. Kielty is hitting 10 fo 30 with 4 HR's against Byrd.

I don't think this is a panic move, it just makes sense for a lineup that looks weak at leadoff and at 6 to 9.

I agree with the part about Drew. An outfielder worth the money he gets paid would have at least gotten a glove on the Loften shot last night (Ellsbury would have), and Drew BLOWS offensively. He still swings like he's afraid someone will notice he's batting.

As for Crisp, while he is sucking wind at the plate, his defense has been consistently good. If you were to replace either Drew or Crisp, then you put in Ellsbury. But if you replace both, who's the other guy? Kielty? Moss? Neither makes me too confident where defense is concerned.

its funny how drew gets the blame for everything . how about pedroia ? lugo? varitek? crisp?

most of our production in the playoffs so far is by our 2,3,4,5 hitters , everyone else hasent done much

Yes' date=' for now b/c he's more familiar.[/quote']

You're probably right but my rage for his DP in the second last night is clouding my judgment.

You have to be kidding. It was Kenny Lofton.

Kenny Fkn Lofton.

Ya think the RF was playing deep? No, he's looking to take away a hit, not playing the warning track. Combine that with the fact that it wasn't exactly a moon shot and you have a ball that is going to be very tough to make a play on.

Expecting a player to rob a guy of that homer is just silly.

coco is getting the blame, he is part of the argument of who should sit, drew or coco.

the reason the other guys arent taking as much heat is because they cant be replaced by someone of ellsbury's caliber.

and SOTK said that drew isnt a slowpoke, no he's not, but he isnt as fast as coco either

Drew has gotten on base. He made it twice last night. How many times did coco reach base?

That was a sweet double play he hit into last night. I called it before he even got into the batters box. I thought my brother was gonna shoot me.

I can understand starting Coco in center in the first three games. He'd started all season when they won 96 games and had already made some very important defensive games in the playoffs. Up until the second half of game 2, offense wasn't really a problem anyways.

But I think come game 4 you have to go with Jacoby in CF. Not saying they will win if they go with him in game 5 but when your CF is doing nothing offensively and you have a guy like Ellsbury you have to go with him.
