OK - I think it is commandable the way Yankees made the playoffs from being 14.5 down. At the same time - the final result does not live up to 200 million $ payroll.

Noone answered my question - I think A-Rod is gone - Mo and Posada stays.

I hope there is a second part to the T-Mobile commercial between Rocket and his wife and he doubles the prize money this time.

I really believe that this will be the yankees best chance at a Championship for quite some time. The are aging at key positions with no one ready to step in next year and play a major role. They will start to downslide. Matsui, Damon, Abreu, Moose, Mo are all in various phases of decline as is Jeter's SS range. ARod might opt out. Giambi is dead weight. The pool of young FA talent will be very thin. Shelly Duncan is not the answer. The young pitchers haven't shown anything too special. They need ML seasoning. It would be special if the FO infighting results in chaos for the onfield poduct.

700, you have been preaching for the past couple yrs that our downfall was age and now our downfall is youth? The fact is, guys like Hughes and Joba stepped up major league when needed. Both will be in the rotation along with Kennedy who was dynamite down the stretch in big ball games. They did exactly what I had hoped they wouldnt do, which was be thrown into the pennant race late in this thing. They are ready. The big question will be who defects with Torre and will Pettitte exercise his option. Pettitte is the key IMO. He and Wang make a nice top 2 for the kids to grow under, kinda like Beckett and DiceK for you guys. If we rely on Hughes or Joba or Kennedy as the 3 next yr, we could be fine. If they are our 2-4 and we need to go to Moose as the 5 with no lefty, we are in trouble. This is going to be an interesting off season. We have the potential to really do something positive from within, but George might throw a wrench into the works.

Age is your enemy, and your youth is not ready for prime time. We'll see what pans out in a couple of years, but it will be decline for the teams fortunes for the next couple oof seasons. You are young. The years will pass quickly.

If he does I wouldn't be able to blame him. This is ridiculous. Granted, back in May we would have gladly accepted this fate, but come on. Enough is enough. Why can't we just do what we have to do? Why is everything so hard for us when the calander turns and says October? I'm at a loss for words right now. Anybody who is fimilar with me on these boards knows that following our elimination the past few years I would go on a rampage...but I dont even have the energy to do that. Honestly, if we can't take a W from PAUL f***ING BYRD we don't deserve to win. If Jeter can't do anything besides ground into double plays we don't deserve to win. If we're leaving all of these runners (the ones who arent erased via DP, that is) on we dont deserve to win. Hey, i love Torre and would welcome him back next year, but at this point I dont even really care either way. Whether it's under Joe, or Donnie, or Grardi, or La Russa, or Bobby Valentine, or Art Howe, or Mike Hargrove, or ANYONE the bottom line is we need to play respectable baseball to avoid this again.

Well time to get ready for another LONG, cold offseason.

Lets go Rockies!!

I can only imagine a rampage from you if you didn't even make the playoffs.

The Yankees will be beasts in the regular season. But in the playoffs, since game 4 of the 2004 ALCS... this picture is basically them

Just put a cork in it man. The last thing I need right now is to read your ridiculous posts. Nobody gives a f*** what you think man. It was us who almost blew your huge division lead and knocked you guys around down the stretch. You have no merit to say s***, honestly. I can just picture you right now sitting there in all of your glory with the sense of fulfillment that you get when the Yankees lose, which is stronger than that of a Red Sox win, unfortunately. Just do us all a favor and go to bed man.

I am just curious what the Yankee fans thought about the Captain giggling numerous times through the early innings as they were down by a 4 run deficit in an elimination game. I was a little surprised. I guess he has finally got use to losing so maybe it doesn't bother him as much anymore. I saw none of the usual Jeter fire. Has he lost the fire in his belly? You have the whole fall and winter to ponder that question.

Yeah...exactly. Maybe it's "imminent"

and in keeping w/ not screwing w/ the baseball gods, I've been in full goofy tivo superstitious mode all night. Worked.

I'm preternaturally ecstatic about those f***ers stewing in a fist pumping gum popping how many times can you all go to the mound circle jerk loving false idol wearing miasma of their own doom. A crock pot of festering falsehood. Against a Byrd w/ no feathers or talons.

Like some kind of ritualistic cleansing of the soul. They are done...said three times gives it more credence.

f*** them and all of their dubious fans. No more taunts. No more pantheons to their abject greatness. Not this day. Not for a long time. Redemption is sweet.

Ok....a little over the top but I'm quite content this beautiful October evening. And, we f***ing deserve it for all the suffering and smushed remotes and moron New Yawkers. Ha!

And yay! We can beat The Tribe. I say w/ great respect and admiration.

At this point i'd rather that, and watching the postseason from a neutral perspective than having to deal with this s*** every year. Enough is enough.

Home field advantage throughout the post season. Swept your nemesis Angels. Next, maybe we kick the s*** out of the your conquerors. It's football season for you. So, go cry yourself to sleep.

So, you didn't notice Jeter giggling on more than one ocassion in the early innings down 4 runs. If manny had acted like that in an elimination game, it would have been a major incident in the Northeast from Connectictut to Boston to Providence. Hell, he goes to the bathroom and it's a major incident.

They arent ready for prime time? They were the reason why we nearly caught you guys. If that isnt prime time, I am not sure what is.

But you cannot say that for certain. Beckett was out of his mind this yr. It would be hard to improve on what he was this season.

You can't say Wang is going to be a stud for certain.

lol huh? The Sox actually didn't almost blow anything, the Yanks just played out of their minds down the stretch. The Sox actually had I think the 2nd or 3rd best winning percentage during the 2nd half...

You don't understand what it's like to be a Sox fan. For f***ing YEARS we've been s*** on by you guys. The fact that we're playing in October while the Yanks are golfing, once again, is s*** that will totally be thrown back in your direction (as it was thrown in our faces many times when the situations were reversed).

No doubt, but I do have two and a half yrs of track record in a yankee uniform with very similar performances. Beckett has one yr of stud and one yr of dud.

So wait Beckett's time in Florida means nothing?

WHO ELSE IS HE GOING TO PITCH

Mariano, like he ended up doing.

And Beckett's run in Florida means about as much as Pavano's and Clement's. Nothing. The NL is the JV league until proven otherwise.

So wait....wait...wait...

What does that make Clemens over the last 3 or 4 years, of which the Yankees signing of him was a great move?

Maybe because you were ascending to the mean and your world class lineup feasted on some AAAA pitching for a good month and a half in August?
