yet another fantastic move by our soon to be unemployed skipper. Clemens is down for the count. Pettitte and Hughes are unavailable and Wang may or may not have anything. So when he puts Clemens on the inactive roster, he goes out and activates the lefty who cannot get lefties out? Why no Kennedy when Torre KNEW this situation could arise. Instead, we have a tired bullpen and a guy with nothing on the hill while we watch with baited breath to see if he can hold it.

Goodbye 2007. Another ALDS that we should have won' date=' gone by the wayside. On the bright side, NO MORE TORRE!!!![/quote']

I won't give up on this team yet - they did score 8 runs last night.

Jacko, you seem despondent. First of all, Paul Byrd is on the mound, so a comeback is quite probable. If I were Wedge, I'd be warming up Sabathia about now.

I think Wedge is already working on his starting pitchers against the Red Sox. Knowing the Yankees - that could be a costly mistake.

Despondent isnt the word. At least the future looks damn good with Torre out of the picture and the rooks looking solid. But losing to Byrd is similar to losing to Rogers last yr. Inexcuseable and terrible. This team should have come to play tonight. And from the 3rd pitch until now, they didnt. f*** em.

you knew it could be a special evening when paul byrd, who tops out at 86mph,K'd arod with 3 straight batting practice hangers with 2 on in the 1st.

even webster gwynn called them clnkies or some fukin term that only he knew for hangers and arod just whiffed....

kids

the yanks got another run in them tonite but will they overcome a 5spot?

doubtful

now what ny

do you make arod a 32-35M per offer

he may have actually raised his playoff batting (.167)average since 04

so what do you do amongst this pathetic effort?

i sign him if im cashman but put a playoff bonus on it to justify the extra 10M if thats possible

25M per 10M for playoff achievments?

someone will bitch

its good to see s*** heels like clemens xposed again like a pussed blister

october doesnt reveal character

it exposes it

i want the yanks to come back and win this win then lose in 15 tommorow but i think they knew they were cooked when byrd overpowered arod in the 1st with guys on 1st and 2nd

compare this guy to oneil yank fans

you gotta just be sick

To be fair - Wang pitched on 3 day rest - but comparing Wang to Becket(ace to ace) is really reaching. Last time Becket pitched on 3 day rest in the postseason - he shut out the Yankees.

Wang and Beckett are different kinds of pitchers. beckett has the stuff to dominate one game. But over a full season, who do I take? its tough cause Beckett may just be having a career yr right now or he could be an ace for life. Who knows. One thing I know about Wang is that the guy will still throw 200 innings a yr and have an ERA at or below 4. Unfortunately, that doesnt do s*** when you need an acelike performance with our backs against the wall, yet we get this s***.

Byrd did way better than anyone expected. 74 pitches - does he come back another innings for the last 3 Yankee batters in the line-up?

Rocket is gone and done. Pettitte is aging as is Rivera. You have an old injury riddled former steroid using 1B/DH. Your aging catcher wants a long term deal. Your SS has one maybe two years left as a SS. Your 3B might walk. Your CF Melky is an average player. Damon can't play CF anymore and Matsui can't play LF anymore. You have no middle relief, and your kid starting pitching haven't shown anything very encouraging. Your future looks like crap.

I still think Andy Petite is the real ace. Wang is a very good pitcher - but not as good as his stats show for.

On the plus-side Hughes looked pretty good down the stage. With Joba and Kennedy starting next year - Yankees actually look nice and young in rotation. Only think that might screw up things is another 28 million dollar mid-season acquisition.

wang always seemed to be on the verge of early collapse

if you get him early you got him

if not and he gets groovin he goes thru 12-15 hitters easily
