i think we just saw the last of Roger Clemens. His hammy hurt him so badly tonight that he had to leave a must win game. And reports are that it never healed. This likely means he's done for the rest of the playoffs (which may just be until tomorrow). And with the ligament damage he has in his elbow, he doesnt have the stamina to pitch another season in the bigs without surgery. And at 45/46, he wont have the time to rehab for a yr and a half. This is most likely the last visage of Clemens on a mound. An old, battered, beated, injured shell of his former self limping off the mound as the future of the franchise picks up where he left off and shows him how its done. Either way, great career, but I think it is finally over.

No' date=' the first time he announced his retirement was 2003.[/quote']

s*** my bad I hit the wrong key and didn't even bother to notice. Point is, he's "retired" before. I'm sure he'll be back next year in Cashman's office wanting to pitch.

He just needs to take his daily dose of HGH.

Is anyone remotely surprised? Just further cements his legacy as a great regular season pitcher.

Crunchy predicted it... though I believe he said Clemens would leave with an "injury" and a 5 run deficit, and it'd have been a 5 run deficit if he'd stayed in.

He did have a pretty nice postseason record and ERA CF. But this is now the second time he has left a big game due to the hammy and both times he had no business starting the game.

2nd time mj?

2nd time??

the last 3 big game starts hes left

the last 2 in yankee stadium albeit 4 years apart he left without finishing 3 ip

he fooled everyone who was blinded by the ********

he stole 19M in cash from the yankees this season as well as putting them in a 3-0 hole in game 3 down 2games and on the brink

believe me

he didnt want the ball,he never does when it matters

if this were the navy they'd have hung him this morning

in the army he wouldve been shot for treason

in east somerville they wouldve lit him on fire under the sullivan square overpass

f*** roger clemens

the man hasnt won facing elimintation in 21 f***ing years and his 1-2 record show us how often hes around to make a difference.

memo to raja

as you move closer to your home in texas you shouldnt be traveling via toronto after your season ends within the next 30 hours

id like to thank the bookmakers who so gleefully put up a 9.5 over under on a clemens jake westbrook matchup.....

thanks boys

we'll be eating well again

the only problem i have with clemens leaving is hes the 1 guy i can absolutley count on to put up crooked #s each time he takes the ball in october and this type of consistancy is hard to come by for us degenerate gamblers

Thats not true Sean-o, dont forget the pitching aces of last year's St. Louis/NY NLCS.....

Game 2 Carpenter v Maine

Game 4 Reyes v Perez

Remember what Jimmy V says- don't give up, don't ever give up

There will always be a s***** pitching matchup out there.

Wait until game 4 of the ALCS when its Lester/Wakefield v Byrd/Mussina

I can't believe I forgot to look at the o/u yesterday- in fact I've been neglecting them all season in both sports.

Hope all is well with the fam.
